I know right, I just have habit of letting it go warm to drink it lol so I would end up with watery milk instead.
Oh my, that really had to suck. I got bit by my daughter a couple times myself. I don't know if I breast fed for too long(1y, 3mo), but it was still a pain to wean her off at first.

I don't think you breastfed too long Keres. My Mom did. Spiced is right though. I've heard especially in other cultures they do it until the child is like 5.
Isn't she though?! And I follow her around. _________________ Rayven, I look at your avatar and think "Queen Sparklebutt!"-Tam

I saw a documentary on it once, where there where some families that breast feed the kids for years, and I mean these kids where walking and talking. big enough to go to school.
if there where enough people out there for them to do a documentary on it. then I am guessing there are a lot of people that breast feed longer than you think.
keres is a posting machine around here, I didn't realize how little i posted, till I started looking around for my old posts.

You're right Spiced. I know some do it because it's a cheap source of food. Why others do it I'm not sure. I personally agree with my friend. Back when my Mom was breastfeeding my brother too long my friend said that eventually my brother would ask my Mom to put on something sexy for him while he breastfed. It's just my personal opinion, but if a kid is old enough to walk and talk it's time to take the breast away. There's no way I would have wanted to breastfeed once I was old enough to know what I was doing. My Mom's excuse for breastfeeding so long was that she would never have another child so she wanted to breastfeed him as long as she could. Plus she didn't get to breastfeed me very long because the doctor thought I might be allergic to it. I just don't think those are good reasons to keep breastfeeding. I will be honest though. Breastfeeding is not my thing. I never wanted to do it, and I never did. I bottle fed my son. So perhaps I just don't understand how some women feel. Like I said these are just my opinions. And you know what they say about opinions. _________________ Rayven, I look at your avatar and think "Queen Sparklebutt!"-Tam

Spiced - I have a friend who breast fed till her child was 5 years old. but that was 1 year on the tit, and the other 4 years she was pumping and giving it through a cup. I honestly think the longer they have it the better. I just think after a certain age they should start to come off of the tit it's self at least.
Yeah that is how the child as at the family shelter, walking talking, and just about old enough for school.
I sure am every where *giggles*
Rayven *Nods* true true.
When I was at the family shelter, we were at one of the Thursday morning meetings, which hey require you to go to. this lady was there and her son had to be like 4 or 5 years old. but out of no where just lifted her shirt up and latched right on I was like *woah* did he just do that.
I can totally understand where you are coming from Rayven. for me, I just could not get myself to put her on formula, oh gosh the seedy stinky mess (mortified look). At least with the breast milk that smell is not to terrible.
But yeah, it was hard to wean my daughter jut simply because my ex's fix it all, was, "just put her on the breast." so that took so time to get her off because she was so used to it. It is how I had to put her to sleep a lot. Hell I ended up falling asleep a lot myself. you would be surprised how exhausting it is just to breastfeed. I could not imagine having to feed twins. o.o'

I'm sure breastfeeding is a lot of work. That's one of the reasons I didn't want to do it.
I got lucky I guess. My son didn't cry around for a bottle after I took them from him. He just started using a sippy cup like a pro. _________________ Rayven, I look at your avatar and think "Queen Sparklebutt!"-Tam

It sure can be, but it is not terribly much of a chore to do.
Awe that is awesome that he didn't fuss about the bottle being taken away
meep! a bunch of paper just fell out of the shelf for no reason.

I know right
my friend was like, "poltergeist!" *chuckles*
oo that is spooky too.
In one of the old places that I lived, I had a television tat would turn it's self on and off, it would change channels on it's own. I also had a radio that did funky stuff as well.

My parents used to have a TV that would turn itself off and on, but the power button was kind of stuck. So I think that when we walked across the floor the vibrations jarred it. _________________ Rayven, I look at your avatar and think "Queen Sparklebutt!"-Tam

That sounds like a good possibility.
I don't know about mine though. Freaky stuff, I really want to think that it was spirits in my room. I only say this because I would have to argue out lout to the air, "stop messing with my television." or, "I know your hear so stop it already I just want to watch my show." and it would usually stop.
I don't think it ever happened while my mothers used that television or even when she was in my room.
She only asked once why I was yelling out to somebody who wasn't in my room. My mother is a big believer in ghosts. She was all like, "who are you talking to?" and I was all like, "The spirits are messing with my television set again, I am acknowledging them so they leave it alone." she went, "oh." and went about her way

My parents would have looked at me like I was nuts. My parents are quite frustrating to me. They are the kind of people that can have something happen to them, and they still blow it off. _________________ Rayven, I look at your avatar and think "Queen Sparklebutt!"-Tam

I had lots of people look at me funny because of the odd happening with the electrical equipment in my bedroom. or even that I have had thing just fall off of shelves or desks for no good reason at all. like none. I had a doll that is like maybe 5 inches tall and it was a good 6 or 7 inches back on the table. well out of no where in front of 3 of us, it came tumbling right off of the table and a foot out onto the floor. we all looked at each other and was like, hmm. we all agreed that it was freaky and 'unnatural' as in nothing naturally here could have moved it. pft it had been sitting in the same spot for like a week before hand.
But it is always interesting to see people brush things like that off.
