I'm curious... What do you usually do on the weekends?

Do you have a regular activity? Rotate through several things? Schedule something? See what you feel like doing? Clean the house or do other clean-up type things? Go out to eat (or these days, order in)? Play video games? Pursue a personal project?

I have spent a good part of the last couple of days reclaiming a garden from the weeds and grass, pulling weeds from around the front walkway, and doing a general yard clean up. While I've been out, I've heard some neighbors splashing about in their pool, seen a couple other neighbors out doing things similar to what I've been doing, others walking their dogs, etc., but it got me wondering what folks do with themselves...

The only thing that happens basically every weekend is my weekly staff meetings at the magazine I work for- our meetings are every Sunday evening. I also occasionally see my psychiatrist on Saturdays. Besides that, hm... I get to see more of my boyfriend online...? Everything else sort of just varies based on my health and mood.

So the pandemic has made us lazy XD

Our normal weekends now are gaming and shows on Saturday and lawn stuff Sunday along with more lounging. Maybe take a bath or read

Hmmm I forgot about laundry, I guess thanks for reminder!

Food wise sometimes we cook and sometimes order in, if the weather keeps up we can grill soon!

We usually see what we feel like doing, or sometimes, what we need to do. We don't have a usual routine for the weekends. Of course, with Zukyun working from home and the boys off doing their own thing and working, there's really not much differentiating "weekday" from "weekend" these days, except for the lack of Zukyun's Zoom meetings (with the occasional guest appearance by me!).

Even with work they all blend together a bit, I am excited to shake things up once we reach heard immunity and kids can be safe too

But like what to even do! Movie theaters seem so big and crowded like it'd feel weird going back in one but I do miss the experience. Do I go bowling and put my hands in the bowling ball holes? Are they sanitized?

More anxiety, yay Rolling Eyes

We gave up on going to the movies years ago - after a certain point (a weird combination of kids, expense, and just not liking the movies that were coming out) it just didn't seem worth it somehow. Or maybe I just like being able to pause the movie when I want, or to lie about in my PJs with the dog in my lap when watching XD LOL. We don't tend to do too many movies though, regardless of the details of where or how.

Zukyun and I usually don't go to the parks, beaches, etc. on the weekends - we don't like people that much, usually XD

Ah yes with just the two of us - and my old work place giving out free tickets as "yay you rock" prizes - it was not a big financial hit... though I do love popcorn but it's so overpriced

After work we are just so drained it is hard to go out (unless it's for dinner). During winter the sun set at like 4pm here so it's hard to enjoy the outdoors. Now we have until... 7 or 8 I think so maybe we'll start adventure after work instead of waiting until the weekends

But you are right, there are way to many people most places. Makes me wish I could have done big tourist things like 20 years ago

Yeah, I hear ya. Sometimes it's worth doing the big tourist things anyway... as long as you resign yourself to a lot of waiting. The landmarks etc. are often worth seeing, even if you have to deal with some crowding. It's also often worth it to take off an afternoon or something in the middle of the week to go see something that is of particular interest... or just do a Staycation and do the sights...

We've done so many stay-cations XD

I've run into the issue of staycations, then different family comes to visit, and now I have been to the Space needle like 5 times in a 2 year span (pre-pandemic)... it's to much space needle

This weekend is a zoom graduation and a zoom birthday

I mean....I work. Usually only on Saturday, but sometimes Sunday too. On my day off, if I get one, I usually stay home and sleep in. And play animal crossing. Sometimes I work on a craft project or read some or do my nails, depending on my energy level.

And occasionally, if my friend also has time off, we'll take Derpy on a road trip.

Are you playing New Horizon Kaderin?

If you work weekends does that mean you get to do stuff midweek? Like hours when the bank is open and can make a dentist appts with using PTO?

I so hope for a 4 day work week becoming a thing... but if that happens everything will probably get the same day off and the bank will still be closed XD

I am, yes! I don't have internet access, unfortunately so can't visit/have friends visit right now, but can utilize dream codes at my one job on Saturdays. (Unfortunately the internet doesn't let me actually connect for real visits, but will let the dream system work.)

When they don't try to call me in, yeah. I usually have Sunday and then 1 random weekday (typically either Wed, Thurs, or Fri) off.

I'll have to send my Dream code if I remember too... it's been a while since I have played

I am a collector and being colored locked finally annoyed me enough to stop playing. I keep checking in everyday for like a year but I have everything from my Nooks now and (I do have internet access) but it's a hassle so setting up trades for standard items

Are you able to say "no" when they ask you too come in or is this like an "on call" thing?

Just as an fyi, I decided to be silly and do my game as...well...my dragon baby, Derpy's game. Which probably doesn't make sense unless you're familiar with Derpy. XD
But basically I play ACNH, but it's Derpy's character (basically Derpy if he were an adorable human lol) and island so everything gets decorated how he, theoretically, would do it. Which works out since I'm absolute garbage at decorating and design stuff. (Unfortunately, this is also making it hard to get a 5 star island so we can get golden roses. XP)
But if you wanna check it out for a cuteness overload, let me know and I can send you my dream code.

At some point in the hopefully near future, I'll probably figure out a better, though likely limited, internet solution for actual visiting and stuff.

I can say no, and definitely screen my calls, but I have a hard time saying no if they're really desperate. Like last week when we had 2 supervisors call off sick, were already at a skeleton crew because corporate said we needed to cut labor, and the manager was out of town, which left me and one other supervisor and basically 3 cashiers to cover throughout the the whole day. Basically for about half of the work day, it was just me and 1 cashier and the other supervisor put in about 6 hours, then had to come back for the last 2 hours of the day to close.

I haven't heard of Derpy
Wait you need 5 stars for gold roses? Huh I just bought one from someone since I didn't have a golden watering can

Feel free to send it over!

Oh that sounds awful. It's always burned my biscuit when place want to cut hours and staff but expect the same amount of work and diligence (for, and I am guessing, the same pay)

My moms work did that so now they only have 2 people in the whole store to covering registers and stocking and helping customers Mad
