December DI Survey

So, since Squirrel Hybrid hasn't made his usual thread yet I thought I might as well do it this month.

I'll give my own opinion later, so I don't clutter up this post with my ramblings.

Well, I absolutely LOVE pure black sets (or black/silver), so my favorite so far would have to be the Yorick Shadow Dragon set. ^-^
But I also do like the Winter Dragon set too. It's easier to find an outfit to match it.

The dragon tails are AMAZING!!! This is by far my favorite DI.

You mean black and gold, or do you mean that you like that one best since it has black in it?

I like the tails overall, but I find the shading on it...sort of stands out to me. I mean, I think it's trying to imitate scales, but I feel like it looks different from shading we have on other items so I can't help but notice it.

Well, I'm just meaning in general I would of absolutely loved a pure black set or even a black/silver one. So since the Shadow Dragon set is the closest (black/gold) to my favorite colors that it's my favorite set.

Hmm.. Squirrel has been MIA lately..

I think all 3 sets are wonderful, I have only picked up one for the moment being but I plan to pick up the other two before the end of the month.

@Ryver: Yeah, I noticed that too, so since I usually post in this thread when he makes it, i figured i'd just go ahead and make it for him.

I thought these sets would be popular solely because they're dragon-themed and have wings, but it feels like to me that they're not unpopular, but not as popular as I thought I'd be.

Like, in the marketplace I usually see di's pieces selling for really high. But I've managed to catch a bunch of pieces from 25-35k even though i'd think they'd be more expensive since their's only 3 pieces in a set.

Maybe, it's because less gold is around...? Though gems do seems to sell around 150k (though sometimes less) when I see them in the bm.

I think if the wings in this set were like the older dragon wings recolored than the sets would have more interest but I have found the wings not to be in my taste.. -after swapping back and forth between both sets of wings for an hour-

Also, there are still people with quite a bit of pure out there.. I know I easily earned over 1 mil just auctioning off a few items in my inventory.. Probably more people are favoring pure more than items right now since the recap of the mining and fishing.

or people may not be as active right now, the sets might gain more popularity as the month goes on.. I know I came a bit more active since I finished college.

and yea.. usually Squirrel logs on and has the board up right after the DIs come out.. probably his college and all.. I know some end later than others.

I do like the original dragon wings better, and they may have made the set more popular, but personally I like the effort put in to make freshly designed items rather than recolours. Sure I like old items and recolours are nice every once in a while, but I prefer to see new things take the spotlight.

But to go back on topic, I like the wings in this set. Probably my favourite item in these sets. One of the things i'd personally like to see though is the tip of the wing spine thing to not be behind the head, and arch out and be shown for example in a similar manner to the original dragon wings.

And you're points about gold are very valid. I guess it's just that i've been experiencing lots of gold loss recently, so I guess I just feel like that.

Hahah, I'm also one of the people whose school ends later, but i'm procrastinating and decided i had enough studying for today ^^;

I don't have the full blue set yet, but looking at it, it does look like it could be hard to match. The light blue from the air armour, from what Fehvy's wearing, looks like it matches that part well though.

I'm not crazy about them for the simple fact I'm not typically a fan of anthropomorphic items--I don't go for tails, horns and whatnot on my avis as a general rule.

Other than my personal taste, I think the items were very well done, and I like that they not only fit the Zantarni theme but also with previous items; without being direct repeats.

Ohhh, that's an interesting view. I personally like horns and wings and things, but it's interesting to see the reason why people have voted that they don't like them are for different reasons than just not liking how they look or the craftsmanship.

I don't like ANY of the horns.

I think they sit really weird on the head.

I love the items, trying to figure out which one I should buy at the moment...
The only thing I dislike fits in with my current avi... I want to make myself appear as draconic as possible: To do so I need a glendor mask... but I can't stand the feathers on it (it feels out of place to me), so I have to wear a hooded cloak/cape... THEN, if I try to go with wings and a tail... well... the cloak effectively hides those, as well. :c

So, I'd say that if the wings were a bit larger, they'd be as close to perfect as one would be.
