New here-- is going through forums the only way to progress?

I know there's a lot you can do without apples and tickets, but you seem to need them for a good bulk of the game. Is going through the forums the only way to find them? And besides that, I haven't really found any yet. Does it take a while?

Meldrick smiles, "The gym tickets are usually only available by roaming the forums, but they sometimes are available in the Citizen's Marketplace and apples and mushrooms are available in the Food Store. I hope that helps you some, Lady ABCleverun."
