I am completely surprised that this game has not been made into a topic yet, it was born almost 2 years ago.
OMG.
So for all you gamers out there, here is a nice friendly place were the community can talk about all things Skyrim and or Skyrim relations. However, do not deviate too far from the main focus, aka talk about another game for a long time. I know in the heat of the conversations you guys get excited, if that does happen we can always make another topic specifically about whatever game, movie, etc Skyrim reminds you of.
Spoilers.
I must also warn that for those who haven't played the game or haven't gotten far, there will be tons and tons of spoilers. Not many of us have that magical thing called ESP which lets us know the exact point you are in the game. To avoid this I suggest everyones first post, or part in the post, be about how far you have gotten. Just say I've beaten the final boss, or I haven't gotten far into the story line, or I dont really care about spoilers. I want us to be able to talk freely without having to put filters.
Debates.
Hardcore gamers out there will protect the games they love like it's their first born child. I am all for debates, in fact I encourage it because they are healthy and educational. But I do not want them to turn into arguments and negativity. Keep it clean!
Sharing
In the form of images, gifs, merchandise, quotes, songs, etc. there lots of things out there we are going to want to share with the rest. Please make sure that whatever the link is, it is within Zantarni's rules. If you want to share something but aren't sure if its appropriate, PM it to a knight. Don't put yourself into a bad spot because you are scared to ask, it's their job to help so give them something to do. (Plus it keeps them busy from scheming and doing ebil things to us. We can at least hope it will anyway )
Without Further Ado:

FUS RO DAH!
A Skyrim thread, finally.
I was wondering why we didn't have one of these already.
Thanks Ivy!
As far as my experience goes, I finished the game last summer, the basic one at least, did not play the plug-in, Dawnguard yet. But I'm definitely planning to do so.
The character I finished the game with was a Wood Elf, although my preferred race is Khajiit. I'm definitely planning to make an Argonian character when I start playing again.
With Skyrim, as well as all of the other Elder Scrolls games, the fun lies in the fact that you can do sooooooo many things, you don't have to do quests at all, if you don't want to.
My favourite quests were those of the Thieves Guild, the Dark Brotherhood, as well as a ton of other non-guild quests, like collecting Dragon Priest masks, finding all the gems of the Crown of Barenziah and if you haven't already done them, I highly recommend the quests of the Daedra lords, they are so much fun to do.
I'm not going to spam a lot further, I am really curious about who else plays Skyrim on Zantarni, other than Ivy, Nen and myself. _________________

*starts humming the theme* I'm watching the husband play right now. I play a lot through the week while he works so on the weekend he gets unlimited time to relax and smash on some draugr.
Lillie and I seriously are elder scrolls twins! I always played a khajiit in morrowind, playing through skyrim for the first time as a wood elf, and my next character will be an argonian
Anyone else super glad bethesda finally fixed the weird thing where khajiit amd argonian legs stuck out of the back of long robes in morrowind??? That alllllways bugged me.
So far I've done some thieves guild and college of winterhold quests. I havent delved into the civil war or dragonvorn stuff yet but ive watched my husband play a lot. I dont mind spoilers
My one criticism is that maybe professions are toooooo easy to focus on? I got to level 20 with a minimum of quests and combat. But I love picking flowers and looking at all the beautiful prgramming _________________

You should make us a badge! Elder Scrolls twins FTW!
I'm stupid with installing, so I'm going to wait for my bf to get home and install the game for me. Again.
You're so lucky Nen, that your hubby likes to play the same games as you. My bf is not much of a gamer.
Yeah, I'm glad they fixed that. Can you wear boots now with the beast races? That was also something you couldn't do in Morrowind.
The College quests were interesting too, but I'm not much of a magic user, I'm more for hack, slash and sneak attacks.
The Civil war... well, I'll let you experience that for yourselves. I wasn't too keen on it.
I loved riding around, it's one of the things I actually enjoyed in Oblivion, so I'm glad they kept that here as well.
Also, I'm super excited, because in the third plug-in, Dragonborn, you get to ride dragons. I have to get my paws on that plug-in ASAP. _________________

Haha if I had my computer I would! Sadly i have to get it fixed so no digital artwork for a while ):
I break technology a lot. I cant even navigate netflix on the xbox with any grace. it's pretty bad.
I hit guy lottery! On our first date we found out our mutual love of Firefly, star wars, gaming, and com ics. So it's reaaaaally easy to shop for each other.... and we definitely get our money's worth on games!
I was always a hack/slash on morrowind so in skyrim I' trying to balance dual wielding, archery, and magic. So far it's been really nice to have a well rounded character but I don't get many satisfying slow motion crits!
I havent bought or stolen a horse yet.. I feel like I would keep losing it!!! _________________

Well, once you do get it fixed, have it in mind.
Yeah, I break stuff too, mostly my mp3 players have suffered. I've had my netbook for about 3 years now, and it's still alive, so I'm super happy about it.
Ah, I had a bf like that. Games, manga and anime, sci fi novels, we had the same interests. Unfortunately, the guy turned out to be the biggest egoist and narcissist I have ever had the chance to date. So yeah. I'm happy with my current bf. We get along on movies, music and we share a mutual love for sci fi series. That is quite enough for me.
Oh, I had some pretty nice slow-mo action.
With bows too! I prefer bows and short sword/knife combos. Sneak attacks are the best! As far as magic goes, alteration and destruction are my best bets. Also a few healing and fortify attribute spells.
Ah, if you finish the Dark Brotherhood quest, you'll get the best horse in the game! And he'll never get lost. _________________

My wx before my husband was like that. Maaaan I let cool hobbies and a sense of humor cover a lot of flaws.... luckily! My hubby is genuinely a sweetheart and a gentleman and is *honest* and straightforward. I definitely know more about nerdy things than him, but I'm working on expanding his knowledge! He was always interested in scifi and fantasy but all of his friends did bmx and worked on cars and his family hunts a lot so he knows a lot of useful things that I'm clueless about!
My favorite is casting destruction spells from afar, summoning and atronach and setting my dog on them while they run towards me, then clobbering then with my elven mace of fire while healing myself and the pooch with my off hand.
My husband is playing a dunmer sneakyarcher type. Seriously! Only uses bows in combat, and some conjuration when he neds an ally. I'm bad at aiming soooooo it looks really difficult to me! _________________

Oh, my bf is very good with his hands. He made an amplifier for his bass guitar (I bought the bass for him, it was a presie ) from scratch! He did literally everything, from the printed board to the leather covering on the amp and the speakers. I was super amazed. Generally, whatever breaks in the flat, he fixes it. We didn't have a handyman over since we moved in.
I never used the summoning spells in ordinary gameplay, I only used a few of them towards the end of the main quest. You are kind of forced to do it anyway. I actually love using the bows, there are so many cool ones! And aim is really not that difficult. They are useful to bring a dragon down.
I up my marksman skill with roaming around and taking out random critters from afar. It also boosts your athletics skill, because you need to run away fast. _________________

I've been trying to get my archery up! I just hate shooting the wildlife! I yell at Rhett if he shoots a bunny or fox and he had to talk me into letting him shoot the deer and elk... he goes and shoots the giants, but doesnt kill them, and then runs away super fast so his archery is way up haha _________________

Ahahahaha, yeah, alright. I get you. I've been mostly targeting the bears, the saber tooth tigers and other critters that can seriously hurt you. That's why having a horse is handy. Quicker getaway.
For starters, the mudcrabs are good for target practice. They're not really fast. _________________

SHADOWMARE!! I love that horse to death and did the DB quest just to get the horse. I wasn't too fond of the targets that were chosen though because some of the people I actually did like. There was lots of debate between me and my friend because he seriously believed that Frost was a better horse in the game and that Shadow came second. I defended like crazy and proved him wrong, but that only made us respect each other as hardcore gamers more. The first time playing I did not know about Shadow at all because I wanted to play without any cheats or spoilers, and as a personal thing, I've always been a HUGE fan of black stallions.
I love how Shadow does not run away when being ambushed or just surrounded in general, he and I do a great job of getting tough enemies. He'll stomp them a few times while I snipe from above.
I heard that if Shadowmare were to die, just wait 10 days and he will spawn again. Here are some cool stuff I found about him:
When summoned, the spirit of Lucien Lachance will sometimes greet Shadowmere as "Shadowmere, my old and dear friend."
Because of his high health (1637) and his ability to rapidly regenerate health (82 hp/s normal, 368 hp/s in riderless combat)[verification needed — see talk page], Shadowmere can defeat low to mid-level enemies despite his low damage output (10 per attack). However this low damage output makes him vulnerable in prolonged combat with enemies that have extreme damage dealing capabilities such as Ancient Dragons. Falling from a great height will also kill him.
Though Shadowmere is implied to be the same horse in both games, it is referred to as a female in Oblivion but as a male in Skyrim. His color has also changed to black from a purplish color. No explanation is given for these differences.
Shadowmere's health was initially 887, but this was silently raised by 750 points in patch 1.8. _________________

Heehee, yeah, Shadowmere.
I also didn't want to use cheats and spoilers, but as I was immersed into the game, I did use SkyrimWiki a lot for information about things I was curious about. Darn my curious nature.
Because I am so fond of riding in the Elder Scrolls world, I wanted to learn about the best horse I can get in Skyrim. I opted for Shadowmere, simply because the DB quest appealed more to me than running an errand for the Blackbriars.
Thanks for those interesting facts about him, Ivy. I had no idea he was really so special. _________________

I used the wiki to find all of the dragonpriests locations because I wondered why I only had about half and I explored all possible areas. I was worried that I might have encountered a bug/glitch in the game, but I believe I read somewhere that not all of the priests will be there. I'll have to do other things and wait for the area to reload again then go back, and keep repeating the process until I finally get to fight one. _________________

Yep, when I started picking the masks up, I had no idea what I was supposed to do with them. I actually found my first mask quite by accident. I was trying to find my way up to High Hrothgar and I got lost. On the way, I stumbled across one of the Walls and found the Dragon priest. It was quite a fight. After I picked up the mask, I consulted the Wiki and found out about the quest. So yeah. _________________
