New - What If Zan #27 and random If #5

One day I was browsing at a used book store, not sure what I wanted to buy, and I happened a small black book called "If", written by Evelyn McFarlane and James Saywell... It was filled with thought provoking questions that all began with the word "If"... I flipped through it and enjoyed thinking about my answers so much that I bought it so I could take it home and answer them all... A few years later I decided to make a thread out of this idea on another smaller avatar site and everyone there liked it, and I have considered making one on Zan ever since, and now I'm finally making it...
I'll post a question every now and then, we'll decide how often new ones will be posted later on as we see how popular the thread becomes... It will be a fun way to get to know each all a little better, and you just might learn things about yourself as you answer them too...

This is a great idea!

If I could have any view, I wouldn't want anything specific. The view would be very nature-oriented, with lots of trees and flowers and the like. I just really like trees. x)

Mine would have to be a forest view, lots of trees (I adore trees too), wildflowers, with a lake right in front... And a mountain behind the lake would be lovely too, and lots of animals, deer, rabbits, hawks, etc, gathering around it... That would be wonderful to me...

Snowy mountain tops and plains. I love the cold, and I have always dreamed of living in a place that is somewhat remote where it snows. Where I could wake up most days, open my windows and see those frosty plains and mountain tops and then go make some nice tea and watch the sun finish rising.

There is a lot more to that fantasy than I am willing to get in to here.

Difficult to choose. I'd kind of like to have a different view from different rooms. I'm about to move to the states, so a part of me would really like to take a view of a nice, traditional street in Japan with me. Nice cobbled streets, the narrowly slatted windows, and the old, elegant houses with the potted gardens right outside. Maybe a nice river running by too with a bridge ... last night I saw a gorgeous one. Fireflies flickered all down it and there was this lovely soft glow from some of the houses near the river. Wonderful.

Funny ... people with money here like to build up walls so that they don't have to be reminded that there are other people around. I kind of want to do the opposite.


If I got two choices for different rooms, I'd like to look out on an ancient, primeval forest with a carpeting of moss and tall, straight trees reaching up as far as the eye could see. There is something magical about the old forests. I love them.

Now here's a boring one. Sunshine and winter, I don't know any other things or ways I'd want to see the place as we have forests, birds, rabbits, squirrels, a pond in the background, garden and that stuff in the summer...

Hmm, tough to decide. If I could only choose one, I think it would have to be with a small field of flowers surrounded by trees on either side and leading to a nearby mountain range (think big and imposing, like the Alps). If there's a creek about, all the better!
