I'm actually interested in making a shield, but the image I'm imagining in my head I'm afraid is from something I've seen before but I can't remember from where...I dunno, but I may try something for that.

Just curious though, since you want it 100x100 is it going to be an icon/avatar you're going to use in another forum?

Yeah, I figured since that size is pretty standard avi size on forums.

TBH though, I was thinking something that size will look great if it's pixelled. And then when I just tried making a shield outline I remembered how hard it is to pixel and got all discouraged...but then the other day I was in the mood to try again and I got most of it done! But since I still have a while until the end date I'm not going to enter yet so that I can still tinker with it until I'm satisfied.

Btw, I really like the name 'Meliae' it looks and sounds so pretty <3

And good luck getting entries for your 4th contest as well!

Just dropping in to give the thread some love, and to figure how I want to do my entries. and I think I may need to look a thing or two up on pixeling becasue that isn't something that I haven't had much experiance in.

Me neither. I think the first time I pixelled something was for a contest on here a few years ago...and that's when I developed great respect for pixel artists because it's terribly hard thing to do and make it look nice.

Yes it is. At least I can use the bucket fill for larger areas, but when it comes down to actually drawing it out and then working on shading and other details you need a lot of patience.

I'm impressed by animation in general as well. I tried to make an animated banner before and it's a lot of work as well creating the frames and then trying to make it flow smoothly.

Yes, banners are good for getting people's attention. You can also post about it in the log in and blog in thread :3

As for pixelling, you can do it even if you just have paint. All you need is the pencil tool set at 1 px to do it really. Although I do like to stick with programs that have layers in them just because that makes things easier in general.
