On Sunday, Feb. 9, 1964. . .the British invasion began when a group from Liverpool made their American debut on a little television show called "The Ed Sullivan Show". . .and the rest is history.
Did anyone else watch this special on Sun. Feb. 9, 2014. . .the 50th Anniversary of that fateful day?
It really was a star-packed special, though I by some of the performers attempt at singing Beatles' songs. . .like John Legend and Alicia Keys doing "Let It Be". . .to me, he did a great job, but she didn't. . .
And some of the pairings were rather odd, like Pharrell Williams and Brad Paisley doing "Here comes the Sun." (which actually seemed like a case of dueling hats).
It was a star-studded affair that highlighted a set by Ringo, then a set by Paul and then the final set with both Paul and Ringo. . .
Overall, it was a pretty good show, a great slice of history, including an interview of Paul and Ringo by David Letterman and video montages of John, Paul, George and Ringo growing up as well as vintage scenes from that first show so very long ago.
Did anyone else see it? If so, what do you think about the show, the performers, etc.? _________________
