Thank you! And I just clicked yours. I went to the thread for the pets, the Zanto Ranch, too.

Awww. I would like to meet her.

I see both our avatars have books. Is yours also a reader?

Sorry Weird! I guess I missed your reply here. Embarassed

For a very long time Shugga was a fixture here in Zan. Heart

Well I don't have a book anymore, but yes I love to read. I haven't done much of it lately though. It's not uncommon for me to go weeks or months without reading. I burn myself out, and then I'll read a bunch of really thick books until I burn myself out or get too busy again. XD My favorite books to read are paranormal and paranormal romance, but I'll read just about anything. What do you like to read?

My favourite is the Bible. Not because I'm good, but because it's an interesting book, and it's pretty. Even though mine is pink.

I love the translating/transcribing missionary narrative. Where they go and write down a language for the first time. DUDE language! And giving people their first chance at books they can fully understand! lol

I also like some of the classics, some Charles D, Austen, and Bronte. I like reading Ever After High as much as I like reading The Railway Children. Father Brown is weird, but beloved. Tommy and Tuppence are great. I read novelizations of my favourite movies, and have also read Lord of the Rings several times (and dislike the movies). I read and reread the wanna be novels that I've written (two have paperback versions from self publishers), and the RP stuff I've done with friends. I like Robin Hood, and I have a Myst novel. I have a few Christian novels that I love, both old and new. I have a couple Christian chick lit books, and one of those makes me happy when I read it. I have Transformers graphic novels running out my ears. I love Heidi and Words by Heart. Little Women is beautiful, and The Snake's Pass is breathtaking despite two uses of an outdated and racist word that Sharpie can take care of. Who Put the Skunk in the Trunk? is self help at its best.

I like Word Alive magazine, and The Toybox Philosopher blog. I love a good indi comic or zine. I like Tom Dell'Aringa's web comic Marooned.

oops. Um. Did that make sense?

XD Yes it did. I've read so many books I didn't even bother keeping track of authors for the most part. I'm like that with songs too. Especially older songs. I never really worried about who sang it just rather I liked it or not. There's a couple I really like that I can remember, but that's about it. I like anything by Mercedes Lackey, but she co-authors with other people quite a bit. I also like Karen Marie Moning. I've never personally been a great fan of Stephen King. I like a couple of his books, but I think he's overrated. I know what you mean about the Bible. It is very interesting, and I started to read the whole thing once. I got quite a ways through the Old Testament, but I got distracted by life, and never could get into it again though.

I read Lord of the Rings too and The Hobbit, but to be honest I liked the movies better. Usually I like the books better, but those are a little too dry for me in most spots. Plus the love affair between Aragorn (or whichever of his names you choose) and Arwen is almost non-existent in the books, and the Aragorn in the books is no Viggo Mortenson. XD I did see that there is another book with more about Aragorn and Arwen, but I have yet to seek it out. I figured I would still prefer the movies, but maybe one day I will try to read it. As far as Game of Thrones goes, I much prefer the books. The Children of the Earth series by Jean M. Auel is just wonderful! The first book is The Clan of the Cave Bear. It's about prehistoric humans, and it talks a lot about language.

Now I hope I'm making sense. XD

It does! I have a lovely book set for LoTR. It's FOUR books. Normal paperback novel size, with good size printing. Makes it so pleasant to read.

I've read Clan of the Cave Bear and its sequels. They have too much graphic "bedroom" stuff for me, personally, but I know the non "bedroom" stuff had a strong influence on my early head canon. And I still remember the story of the first book, despite reading it in late elementary school. lol

I also tend to nerd about how a book is made. I like pretty books that contain stories I like. I have a little inexpensive edition of 'A Christmas Carol' that is a copy of the original edition. I love it. And I have a little book by Louisa May Alcott that's all Christmas pretty. Some years I use it to decorate the house in December. lol I think my interest in book construction is why I'm so fond of zines.

I can see why you'd feel that way about Clan of the Cave Bear. It didn't bother me personally, but I can see how it would not be someone else's cup of tea. My Mom couldn't handle reading them, but then again she doesn't read at all. XD Neither does my Dad. I'm not sure where I got my love for reading from. Mom says she read to me when I was little so I'd love it, but I read to my son and it didn't have that effect. XD

I know what you mean! It's no wonder people like picture books. When I was a kid I had these Bible story books, and they were so vivid! I loved them. The books even felt neat because they had very thick pages. I even love to smell books. XD

Crystal Roses I still haven't seen the movie. Embarassed

Me too Lady Catrina, but I used to have more. One of the last times I moved I got rid of a bunch. I regret it now, but I didn't have a choice at the time.

Those are great places. I've bought mine from everywhere. Mostly I just rent from the library lately.
