Just be mindful of the cap that the Knight have put up. For me I have 650 NRG and I barely get down to half before having to wait a day just to mine or fish again.
It is easy for someone just starting out since all of their stats are low, but the higher you are the less you'll be able to use it. So afterwards do they continue to post and get "x" amount at a time, or is there something more rewarding they can do?
Another point is do you think newcomers or anyone feels pressured to draw in order to get the items they want if they're low on gold? Or if someone is tight on money and cannot buy with USD enough gems to cover the cost? _________________

Whenever I log in, I always restart the garbage disposer job, and I mine. Eventually, I'll refine the bronze and gold, and sell back to the trader.
When I was new, I didn't really feel any pressure to open an art shop (I eventually did, but could never keep it open very long). But, unless if someone wants to buy gems with real money and sell them for Zg, I think drawing might be a new person's best way to earn gold. And that's a little unfair, because everyone's talent is unique, and might not be desirable for others, so people might not buy from them. As a new person, I gave up on ever trying to get certain items, because either people never sold them because they are rare and highly sought after, or I would never have enough gold. I think within my first year of joining Zantarni, I heavily debated on if I wanted to stay or not, purely because of how difficult some items were to get. I ended up moving past that feeling, but it's still a little frustrating that I know I will never own certain items.
The most rewarding thing a new person can do for Zan is to stick around and actively post in the community. It will be a slow process, but if more people do that, it will encourage more new people (and even some veterans), to stay and post if they see there is activity. It's a vicious circle.

Plaidgirl: I think this was the first quest that used so many. The only other times I've seen them being used was a single fish.
Ivy: Do you mind if I shorten your name?
I didn't know there was a cap so that would be a good thing to make known more. I'm only at a 100NRG so I can usually do a few rounds before I get bored of all the clicking and just stop.
I wouldn't know about being pressured since I was not into drawing when I was new on here and it was more active when I joined but I was mostly a lurker who would do the quest mostly during the event and just be happy with the items gained through that since I was still getting something from the event. The events are also a good way since if they don't like the items, in the end, they can sell those and since they are rare, as in you can't buy them in a shop, they can make a good amount of gold from those.

Oooh okay. That makes sense. I am level 4, i need to train up a little more.
I actually only have 150 Energy. So i get no where near the mining cap. I have been here forever but am just recently getting into training up my stats and whatnot to do the good deeds and stuff. I'm not sure if the newcomers feel pressured to do art...i mean, i have an art shop that no one ever visits, so i wouldn't recommend it as particularly profitable , honestly. But maybe a different style or something than mine would sell better. I do watercolors and stuff like the one in my signature.
.Garbage disposer job sounds like fun though. ^_^ _________________

I'm only level 2. I never work on training since I forget about it more often than not. Or the jobs or deeds I forgot about them too. I know I did them once or twice when I first started but my attention is quickly taken away from it when I have to wait for something to finish but that's a personal thing and shouldn't be ignored as a way to earn gold in the end. Though the stats training requires tickets which are found by being in the forums so they would have to at least lurk for a bit before being able to do it.
That's the highest job you can do so it requires the most skills though it's not that hard since I have two of the three required skill lvls so a newcomer could easily get up there if they spent the time to.
Ivy: I have the Nightmare wings and the tattered blue bat wings if you still need them.

Thank you guys for your input, it is great reading up on your thoughts and also giving more insight on other ways to get gold.
Riley: What do you think the community can do for newcomers so they don't feel the way you did about obtaining rare items and eventually feeling pressured to draw for items?
Hanah: I do not mind at all. The majority of the town calls me Ivy as well. So you think being active in events, and obtaining more than one of any of the event items to later sell, is a great way to get gold and rare items? Is that a better alternative to those who are not artistic or choose not to be?
Plaid: So you have an art shop but it is not very active. Do you have any ideas about possibly gaining popularity? Or do you think it's better to offer art when an item that you want is on sale, versus making an art shop and waiting for other to come to you?
EDIT: Yes I would love to have those wings please!!! _________________

Honestly, there probably isn't much the community can do. Maybe if someone is ready to sell an item, keeping an eye out for someone who has been questing for it for a very long time and offering to sell it to them might be helpful. I think overall, it's a supply and demand problem. Too many people want certain items and there isn't enough to go around for everyone to have them, unfortunately.
If I recall, didn't some set up a thread/shop where they loaned out their rare items for gold for a certain period of time? I don't know if that's still around, or if that was even successful.

That was me I think. Looooong time ago I was questing all of the Donation Items so I can lend them out to people for a specific period of time. However, like a lot of members, my stay on this site got more rare as real life progressed.
I eventually could not keep up and missed a good bit. So then I decided to quest for a specific type of item and make my life easier. I fell in love with Wings thanks to Yoari and also realized wings are a highly sought after accessory too. They both went hand in hand. In fact, I am almost done getting all of the wings too! _________________

That was pretty quick, given how many you've missed in recent months and how many have been released... _________________

Scarz and a few donators have been absolutely gracious to me.
Unlike you who keeps releasing more and completely ruining my plans because I have more wings to oogle over. _________________

I would say for those not artistic it or just not wanting to be, quests and event item collecting to sell later would be a good alternative. If they start out as lurkers usually at least the town quests give out items at the end so they get some free items without having to post like crazy to get the event currency. If they can post enough to get two sets of event items then they will have a good chance to make profits on selling to those who missed it or even trading with an older member who may have missed the event and wants one of the items. Some events don't have items that appeal to everyone so even if a newcomer only managed enough to get one or two items and they don't suit their taste they will still have something to sell or pass off to the trader if they can't get anyone to buy them off the market. even if they don't get thousands of gold they can probably make a cute little beginner outfit with the amount they get from just trading in the unwanted item to the trader. Though it would be preferable to sell on the auction or black market for a higher profit. They will have to be careful of the auction though since it charges a 1000 gold fee to list an item.
Okay, I'll send the wings over in a few minutes.

Hanah that is exactly why I always try to get an extra set of the event items. Whatever doesn't sell at all I'll give to the trader or sell in the market for half off. I want to get back into helping the community out like I use to. Lately all I have been focusing on since I came back were collecting the wings. I am almost done, with the majority being contests that I cannot get until an event comes around. So in my down time I can actively post and collect things to help out other players. ^^
Also thank you for the wings! Is there anything I can give you in return? _________________

That's a good plan. Though I always feel a bit bad when I sell to the trader since I can never get the item back. So I always worry that after selling to him I'll find someone who wanted the item.
I don't need anything I'm just happy to give them to someone who wants them.

Hmmm, im not sure. Maybe seeking out people who want art would be more effective than just having a shop alone. Not saying that anyone shouldn't have a shop, but i think there's more too it than just opening a shop.
Also i can do more than one style, that might also be a way to gain customers...not everyone wants a big complicated piece, maybe smaller art pieces or chibis....i also like to make banners or graphics with words and pictures and such for people. I just haven't been advertising it or anything, i just plopped it into my signature and figured if people wanted art they would contact me. _________________

Plaid that works too and you can also target those have a lot of leftover items that you kinda want to trade for art. Even if you aren't fond of the items, you are drawing for others and promoting your artwork outside of your shop. ^^
Hanah well thank you so much for them. Thanks to you I believe I have 21 wings left to owning them all. I am praying I am not missing any on my list. I went through the Fitting Room so I should have typed them all down. _________________
