The 2009 St. Yorick's Day Event is now closed.
Thank you all for your participation; we hope you have enjoyed the event and will enjoy the contents of the mysterious boxes! Please be patient as we all wait for the boxes to be opened...

"12 Days of Yorick? What madness is this? If I had my way, we would be honoring the Goddess Lilitu or turnips even. Yes, turnips..." The old woman seems to be lost in thought for a moment. "Each is much more deserving than that sickeningly generous Yorick, you know. Saving the world or whatever you people believe." She trails off, glancing around the growing crowd.
"However, I have been instructed by those who think they are better than me, like that fool Meldrick, to 'be nice' to the citizens of the realm for this is a singular season of 'giving.'" Almost choking on the word, she grimaces for a moment. "In case you all had not noticed, I only care about myself and my beloved turnips and, of course, what the Spirits tell me. Well,the Spirits have helped me to see that, if I go along with their little plan of 'spreading joy,' I can also benefit greatly." With a sudden smile widening on her old face, she stands a bit straighter.
"Pay attention now, for I will not repeat myself. For the next 11 days, starting today, you will find a quest each day in the town. It is fairly straightforward, complete the quest and collect the reward. However, you will also have the option of doing a small task for me. Yes, this old woman has apparently misplaced some of her turnips. Won't you please find them for me?" She cackles quietly for a moment. Narrowing her eyes and leaning forward on her cane, she continues. "On the 12th day, Saint Yorick's Day, I'll have a little surprise for you all. Also, all the quests will remain open until the first of the new year. Just remember, all rewards are great, but some are utterly fantastic. Those that learn to respect and love the turnips, well, perhaps they will gain more favor than the rest."
Turning on her heels, she hobbles quickly away from the crowd, muttering. "The turnips. The secret lies with the turnips. They are all powerful. You all will see..."

The first turnip is supposed to be with the "beasts of Zantarni". I checked the Pets thread in the Beer Hall and The Wasteland but I didn't find anything...
