Pagan! It felt like you where leaving me forever!
This is a nice treat. Especially since I just got my wisdom teeth removed today. The teeth didn't bother me at all but the drugs were awful. I thought laughing gas made people happy.
I've never heard of that before but it has been a long time since I've been into anime/manga. Mind giving a summery? _________________ Moon's Youtube//Blog

Sure. The story is told from the POV of Sekiguchi, a long time friend of the protagonist, and is set after WW1. Kyogokudo (the protagonist) runs a used bookstore, takes care of the nearby shrine, and performs exorcisms even though he doesn't believe. He's an extremely well read genius.
This is from Wikipedia : The Summer of the Ubume is told from the perspective of freelance writer Tatsumi Sekiguchi, who is investigating rumors of a woman at the Kuonji Clinic who has remained pregnant for twenty months after the disappearance of her husband. He seeks advice and help from his close friend Akihiko Chuzenji, whom Sekiguchi refers to by the name of his bookstore ("Kyogokudo"). Sekiguchi is further drawn to the case when he meets the pregnant woman's beautiful sister, Ryoko Kuonji, and she asks for his help in solving her brother-in-law's disappearance from a locked, sealed room. With the help of his friends - Kyogokudo, private eye Reijiro Enokizu, police detective Shujiro Kiba, and fellow reporter Atsuko Chuzenji (Kyogokudo's sister) - Sekiguchi attempts to discover the disappearing husband's fate, but he soon learns that there is much more to the Kuonji Clinic than meets the eye, and that his own involvement with Makio Kuonji's disappearance may run deeper than he thinks. Only Kyogokudo's knowledge of Japanese folklore - and specifically the legend of the ubume, often associated with death in childbirth - can make sense of the conflicting evidence, and Kyogokudo agrees to perform an exorcism that will solve the mystery once and for all.
I haven't gotten to the other characters yet, but if they are as interesting as they were in the manga, it should be a really good read.
I thought laughing gas made people happy, too. When I had my wisdom teeth out, it was a surgery, so they knocked me out. I just felt like I'd had a couple stiff drinks afterward. _________________

Hmmm I don't think it is my thing.
I got knocked out for the surgery but they started with the gas. _________________ Moon's Youtube//Blog

So...there's no chance it will end up on your reading list? Does that mean I can talk about it as I read without worrying about spoilers?
I had a saline IV. Then they added something and told me to count backwards from 100. They might as well have said 3. I started to wake up partway through, but I was very suggestible. When I yelled, the surgeon told me to take a deep breath and go back to sleep...and I did. _________________

I haven't been reading that much, so I'm still with the protagonist and the POV characters. It's fun reading, though, since I already have pictures in my head of the characters from the manga.
Trying to get so many things done, and there's so much left. I managed to plant the tomatoes, and transplant the basil again, but I still need to plant the mint. I've been (barely) keeping up with the mowing, but I still need to clean the garage...there's more for both lists, but you get the idea. _________________

I'm so behind on reading too.
We are redoing the underside of our deck and I do not have the physical strength needed to lift things over my head and hold it. _________________ Moon's Youtube//Blog

-falls through the Earth-
I'm half way through 127 Hours by Aron Ralston. My thoughts are he is crazy, the book has highs and lows, and descriptions of actions are very hit or miss. _________________ Moon's Youtube//Blog

Trying to finish The Summer of the Ubume. I'm really amazed at how much the manga followed it.
I keep getting side tracked by online reading, the weather (It's been so HOT!), and politics.
So far, with over 20 tomato plants, I'm getting 1 tomato. I just spotted another flower on one of the plants today. We'll see if there's time... _________________

The weather and politics both awful.
We may need to get our roof replaced because of all the hail. Something we really can't afford right now but it keeps happening.
My dad always had problem with tomatoes too. Aren't they one of those plants that need a certain ph balance? _________________ Moon's Youtube//Blog

Oh, who knows. Probably. That just makes it even MORE annoying, though, since the first tomato plant I grew and got tomatoes from was entirely by accident. I don't even know how a tomato seed got into that planter. So OF COURSE when I actually TRY to grow them, I get this! _________________

You sound like my dad. He is always complaining about not being able to grow tomatoes but he has watermelons and many other things pop up on accident everywhere. _________________ Moon's Youtube//Blog

Moon, I am your father.
Accidental watermelons? Got to admit, that's a neat trick. _________________
