Alice steps forward and clears her throat. Clutching her basket in hand she swings it unconsciously, waiting until she is sure she has everyone's attention.
"Thank you everyone for coming. I know this has been long overdue and I am pleased that I have been offered the opportunity to give you the news."
Eyeing those nearest her, she smiles brightly.
"In the Town, you will find the following icon.  . It will take you to the first of 7 quests that you will be required to solve for this week.
Some of the quests will require you to forage for and refine items, while other will have you hunting through the city for a secret stash. Pay close attention to the clues provided for the last: The answers *are* in there!
A new quest will be provided daily and at the end of every individual quest you will be rewarded with a prize."
Alice pauses a moment, indicating that what she says next is of importance.
"While you will be permitted to complete the quests with your mules, you must keep in mind the Laws of the Land. Anyone found cheating by using more then the permitted number will have their items removed and have those mules banned from our city."
Having made her warning, Alice's smile returns.
"We sincerely hope that you enjoy this event and the treats they will provide!!"

It seems that in her excitement to announce the event, Alice has forgotten to indicate certain details! 
The Quests will proceed as follows. The Quests will be provided from Oct. 25th - 31st.
All the clues will remain up for the duration of the event.
Though no more clues will be handed out, we will leave the clues up and available for one more day giving you November 1st to complete them.
So if you miss a day, you should still have plenty of time to get them all! ^_^

Laur, I have no doubt you'll figure it out! As Alice mentioned in her post, the answer is provided in the clue itself. Just pay close attention. 
Just remember, all questions have answers. It's finding the answer that's key here.

I don't really get it either. I tried clicking on just about everything, including those two little pumpkins on the sticks, and I also tried clicking on the shops...nothing seems to work.
