I should just have "adoption day" parties for them. I think Batty's was the Saturday before halloween the year I got him so I'd have to look up the exact day, and Shade was Thanksgiving the year I got him, so I'd have to look that up too, but it'd be easier to know the day.
And I did an adult thing! I called to schedule an eye exam today! (And was very scatterwd sounding and talked too fast.)
They didn't have any availability until the end of the month, but I took what I could and just need to remember to take the day off from one of my jobs.

Adoption Day is a good idea.  I never thought of that. I always try to figure out approximately when they were born. 
Yay! I knew you could do it. Your eyes will thank you. Don't worry about how you sounded, they probably didn't even notice.

There were definitely some pauses where the person was probably figuring out what I said, but it didn't seem too bad and they were very nice.

I'm glad you got somebody nice.
I really don't like my eye doctor but he's cheap. Don't get me wrong, he's nice, but you get what you pay for and he's not the best doctor. The only good thing is he doesn't fuss at me for wearing my contacts too long to save money. My old eye doctor would have thrown a fit but they were very picky.

Yeah, mine's kinda the same. He just does the standard vision test, in and out quick. I don't mind it though. I mean, it'd be nice to have an eye doctor who's a bit more thorough/comprehensive at times, but I don't mind that the exam itself is quick because I hate having to do it. I just always get anxious having to determine which of 2 nearly identical clarities is slightly more clear than the other and is it a bad thing if they look the same to me?!?
Also, have been browsing frames online (because I'm thinking of picking up a back-up pair of glasses just in case I want to switch out looks or I'm clumsy and break a pair) and I've found a few really cute ones that I'm curious to try. I wanted to try the digital try on to see how one of them looked because they're a different color (a sort of translucent dark purple) than I'd usually get, but my phone is too slow so it wouldn't work.

I thought it was just me! I practically get anxiety trying to figure out which number is better or worse.
That's a good idea. I still need to get some glasses too. Could you try again near wifi or something?

I've tried with wifi. It just says "an app is blocking your webcam", but I've checked all my apps and permissions and settings and nothing should be blocking it so idk. I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Hmmm. I wish I knew what that meant. I'm sure your glasses will be fine though.

When I was in school, I remember temporarily having some kind of plum-colored frames and they weren't too bad. By the time my new frames had come in, I had gotten used to the new ones.
So I think the ones I'm wanting will be fine. The only real difference is that the current ones are more cool/blue toned purple and are transparent.
Awww that would be adorable! I've actually been eyeing some doll glasses and sunglasses that might fit him pretty well.

Awww. At least you know he'll wear them. I'd love to get Max some reindeer antlers but I don't think he'd wear them. I used to have a Great Dane and I dressed her up as a butterfly one year for Halloween, she even went trick or treating with my son. It was adorable!  She didn't mind the antennae or the wings. They didn't stay on too well though. I kept telling her she was a beauuutiful butterfly.

Yeah, she was awesome. I miss her.
The first time I saw a Great Dane I was in love with the breed. A lot of people are scared of them needlessly though.

Yeah, I had a friend in middle school whose family had 2 great danes. I was a lot nervous the first few times I met them (but I've always been really nervous/cautious around unfamiliar dogs and have almost been attacked multiple times in my life), but they were big sweethearts and I actually got to like them a lot. I don't think I'd want to own one, but I'd like to have a friend who has one so I can visit it.

They're not for everyone. They take up a lot of room and when they go to the bathroom, they really go to the bathroom. But they're such sweet goofballs.
Two at once would be interesting to say the least. I hope they had a big house.

Yeah, I just don't have the time or energy (or space) to care for any dog and of course the breeds I like best are all big dogs.
Dogs are just too high-maintenance for me.
