zd001. Common Problems

This section concerns common problems on the site, as well as some of the most frequently asked questions.

    zd001a. Glitches and Errors

Please also refer to the Bugs & Glitches Sticky.

  • Items - The Brown Leather Bag can no longer be equipped, due to changes in the avatar layering system.
  • Food Market - The building on the Town Map is closed, but the Food Shop can be accessed from the drop-down menu on the tool bar: Town -> Zantarni Shops -> Food Shop.
  • Equipping weapons for battle – Is not working at the moment.
  • Tools – There have been reports that the durability of tools may expire after a single use at the Weapon Smith.
  • The Coliseum – Battle rewards may not be received, except for gold. (Although some users have reported receiving battle rewards as normal.)
  • Profile Editing – If you insert an URL link to a video on your profile page, then subsequently re-edit your profile, you will need to re-insert the URL link before saving your changes, otherwise it will be reset and the video will display on your profile as a blank white box.
  • Pets – If pets show up on your equipped item list beneath your avatar on your profile page, even though you have unequipped them in the wardrobe, you can remove them by clicking on "Remove All" in your wardrobe, then saving your avatar. You will be unable to donate a pet to another user while it shows as equipped to your avatar.
  • Elven Ears – If your Elven Ears disappear, equip and unequip a pair of Mermaid Ears (if you have them), or a Veil (from the Tailor's Shop), then your Elven Ears should reappear. (Unequip the Mermaid Ears or Veil by clicking on the item itself, not on Remove All.)

    zd001b. FAQ

  • Q. I saved my avatar in the wardrobe, but the one in the forums, on the right, or in my profile is not changing! What should I do?
    A. Refresh the page using F5 or Ctrl + F5. If that does not work, try clearing your browser's cache.

  • Q. Why can I not sell items to the trading store?
    A. The Trader, as well as other parts of the site, may not work properly in some browsers, particularly Internet Explorer. It works best in Firefox, which you can download free.

  • Q. Can I change my hair, skin, eyes, or gender?
    A. You can change your skin, eyes and gender at this page. That link is also in your wardrobe.
If you need to change your hair, visit the Hairdresser.

  • Q. Can I change my username?
    A. No, your username cannot be changed.

  • Q. Can I change my signature, timezone, e-mail address, or password?
    A. Yes, you can change that information in My Account, from My Zantarni on the tool bar.

  • Q. How do I get more energy?
    A. To get energy, you need to eat food. For more information on food and energy, see section 9, "Energy."

  • Q. Why did my training session at the gym take an hour (or more) to complete?
    A. You must have a full energy (NRG) bar at the start of your training session, for it to complete in the fastest time possible. If you train when your NRG is low, it may take several hours; training on full NRG will typically take around 7 – 8 minutes.

  • Q. Why won't the Weapon Smith make my weapons?
    A. You must have the required amount of materials and gold for the weapon you wish to make. You must also have all 6 tools equipped to your tool belt, although durability will be only be lost by the particular tools needed to make the weapon.

  • Q. Which weapons can be used in battle?
    A. The only items you can use in battle currently are tools that you've made at the Weapon Smith. In the tools section in your wardrobe, you will see a red [+ Battle +] link beneath each tool which is able to be equipped for battle.

  • Q. Why can’t I equip my Eye Patch?
    A. The Eye Patch will only equip over the “wide-open eye” style. If you prefer to have a different eye style, you need to edit your eyes here, so that the eye to be covered by the patch is a wide-open eye. The other eye can be any style you wish.

  • Q. How can I get orbs?
    A. The Orbs can only be purchased from other users. The original four Orbs were donation items; the Dark or Fifth Orb could be found in donation gift boxes (and a few were given as contest prizes); the first four Crystal Orbs were event items, and the Crystal Dark Orb could be found in donation gift boxes. See section 010c, "Orbs and Other Items", for more information.

  • Q. How can I find an online Moderator?
    A. Moderators (Knights of Zantarni) are listed in green when you view online users. To do so, click on Citizens Online (from "Community" on the tool bar at the top of any page), or on View Users (at the top left of any forum). Since NPCs are also listed in green, be sure to check the list of Knights in subsection 15b, "Moderators/Knights".

  • Q. How can I mark all forums as read?
    A. This feature is not currently available.

  • Q. I am missing items, gems, or gold. How can I get it back?
    A. PM Blazestorm, PM Nema, PM Scarz or PM Tisiel for help. For gems, please make sure that your payment has cleared first.

  • Q. How can I retrieve a password that I lost?
    A. Use this link.

  • Q. How can I find a user's profile?
    A. If you know the user's name, enter their name after the following URL:
    http://www.zantarni.com/profiles/?user=
Note: If the user name contains a space, you will need to insert "%20" between the names, instead of a space, e.g. Meldrick the Elder:
    http://www.zantarni.com/profiles/?user=Meldrick%20the%20Elder

  • Q. How can I add a link to another user's profile on my own profile page?
    A. Using the direct link will not work:
    e.g. http://www.zantarni.com/profiles/?user=Esmerla
    becomes http://www.zantarni.com/profiles/?user
Which redirects to the home page.

Use TinyURL to shorten the url link of the user's profile you want to add:
    e.g. http://www.zantarni.com/profiles/?user=Esmerla
    becomes http://tinyurl.com/d4rls5k
Then use this shortened link on your profile.

  • Q. How can I search for items sold by other users, or by a particular person?
    A. Search the Citizens' Marketplace here. There is currently no search-by-seller feature in the Citizens' Marketplace.
You can also check users' threads in the Market Exchange forum.

  • Q. How can I try to be the Avatar of the Week on the front page?
    A. Everyone is automatically entered into the voting for Avatar of the Week.
You can find your own avatar easily from the drop-down menu on the tool bar: Community -> Avatar Battle -> My Avatar Rating.
You can rate another user's avatar from the forums by right-clicking on their name, then click "Rate Avatar" in the drop-down menu.
You can also find your own, or another user's, avatar by entering the user ID number after the following URL:
    http://www.zantarni.com/av_voting/index.php?av=

  • Q. How can I find someone's user ID number?
    A. One way to do so, is to right click on the person's avatar image (from their profile page) and view the image information, in order to see the image URL. The URL of the image should look something like the following:
    http://www.zantarni.com//avsystem/useravatars/######.png
The number in the filename (before .png) is the user's ID number.
You can also see a user's ID number by hovering your mouse over the PM or Profile button beneath their forum avatar.

  • Q. How can I find my own (or another user’s) posts, or post count?
    A. To find your own (or someone else’s) posts, or post count, enter the username after the following URL. The post count will show at the top of the page.
    http://www.zantarni.com/search.php?search_author=
You can also search using the general search link:
    http://www.zantarni.com/search.php
To search through your posts, you have to play with the URL, as you can't currently scroll through the pages normally. You need to edit the number in the URL: each increment of 15 is equal to a new page.
Use the link below (changing the username to the one you are searching for) and change "0" to another number to see the next page, going up in increments of 15:
    http://www.zantarni.com/search.php?search_author=Esmerla&start=0
Note: you can also find your post count by searching the member list, as described below.

  • Q. How can I search the member list?
    A. To search in the member list, you have to play with the URL, as you can't currently scroll through the pages normally. You need to edit the number in the URL: each increment of 50 is equal to a new page.
Use the link below and change "0" to another number to see the next page, going up in increments of 50:
    http://www.zantarni.com/memberlist.php?mode=joined&order=ASC&start=0
If you edit the link to read "username" instead of "joined", you can search the pages by usernames in alphabetical order:
    http://www.zantarni.com/memberlist.php?mode=username&order=ASC&start=0
If you know the user ID of the person you are looking for, you can mouse over the PM icon in the member list to see the last user ID on a page, then you'll know if you're close to finding the person.

  • Q. Is there a dream avatar creator for Zantarni?
    A. Click here to make your dream avatar. The link can be found from Town -> The Fitting Room, on the tool bar at the top of every page.

  • Q. How can I become a Knight of Zantarni (Moderator)?
    A. Knights are only ever elected by other Knights and Administrators, at their discretion and after careful consideration. There is no application process available. Please refer to The Rules of Zantarni for more information.

zd004. Profiles and Donating to Other Users

To go to your profile, click on the head in the side navigation bar.

    zd004a. Contents

The following links are visible in your own profile, beneath the avatar on the left:

  • Here you can personalise your profile by adding text, images and media.
  • Your inventory contains non-clothing items. Here you will see your raw and refined materials, food and fish.
On your own profile, you can also see your Gems and Tickets.
Magical tomes/books, if you own any, are also stored in your profile inventory.
See subsection 10a for more information.

The following links are visible in another user's profile, beneath the avatar on the left:

  • As described above.
  • You can use this link to send a Private Message (PM) to the user.
  • This will allow you to donate gold, clothing, gems, orbs, or inventory items to the user.
See subsection 4b for more information.
Note: the Donate button is also visible in your own profile (on the Inventory screen), but you cannot, of course, donate to yourself!
  • If you do not have the user in your "Friends" section, you can use this to add them.
  • If you do have the user in your "Friends" section, you can use this to remove them.

Across the top of your own or another user's profile are two buttons, which allow you to switch between these sections of the profile:

    Profile
  • To view the main personalised profile page.

    Items

Note: This section will not appear at all, if you do not own any gift boxes.
  • This section will contain any gift boxes which a user may have purchased or been given during the Christmas season 2006, or Halloween 2007. It may also show any Eggs for Hatching, Halloween Pouches or Skulls (all released in 2008), which contained random Donation or Event Items.
All types of gift boxes contain various items, as listed in subsection 10d.
  • There are ten orbs pictured. From right to left, the elements are fire, water, earth, air, and dark. The top five are the original Orbs; the bottom five are the Crystal Orbs.
Beneath each orb type, you can see the number of each orb that the user owns. On your own profile, you will also see the word "[open]" beneath each type of orb. This word will remain scored through, until the orb is able to be opened. This will be announced at the relevant time.
For more information on orbs, see subsection 10c.

  • Also on the profile is the chatter box, where you can post a profile comment. The Rules of Zantarni apply.
A [report] link will show below each user's comment, which you can use to report any inappropriate content to the Knights (Moderators). You may also ask Knights to delete comments from your chatter box.
A small picture of the user appears beside their comment. The username and picture each link to that user's profile. Right-clicking on the picture brings up options that include viewing the user's profile, sending them a PM, or donating to them.

    zd004b. Donating to Other Users

Go to another person's profile and use the "Donate" link there. The link may also be accessed from the forums, by right-clicking on the username above an avatar.

A box with several donation types will pop up: gold, clothing (wardrobe items), gems, orbs, and items (profile inventory items). Click on the type that you wish to donate. You can only make one type of donation at a time.

For gold or gems, simply enter the amount you wish to donate. For clothing, orbs, and items, select the items that you wish to donate. You can donate as many kinds of items as you want, but you can only donate one of each kind of item at a time.
Note: It is not currently possible to donate profile inventory items (raw and refined materials, fish, food and Magical tomes) to another user.

Donating to other users is part of the karma system, which determines your status as good or evil. Donating earns you positive karma points.
See subsection 13a for more information on karma.

zd006. Currencies: Gold, Gems, and More

There are several currencies on Zantarni. The main two are gold and gems, though there have been others.

    zd006a. Gold and Earning It

Gold is the basic currency of Zantarni. There are several ways to earn it.

    Posting
Posting in forums, except for the City Hall and Gaming Tables, earns gold.
Depending on the length of the post, you can currently earn up to 150 ZG (Zantarni gold) per post.
When posting, remember to follow The Rules of Zantarni.

    Playing Games
Games are an easy way to earn gold.
Usually, they cost 10 energy to play. Currently, they are free to play.
For more information on energy, see section 9.
For more information on the various games, see section 7.

    Foraging
Some people make a good profit from foraging for items and then selling them to the Trader, or to other users.
For more information on foraging and the Trader, see section 8.

    Battling, Good Deeds, Crimes, Jobs
You can also make gold from these activities.
For more information, see section 13.

    Referrals
You can either use the referral link at the top of every forum or the ones located here. Every time someone registers to Zantarni using your link, you will earn 200 gold (ZG).
Also, you will earn 1 Gem, if 5 new users register to Zantarni using your link, and each of them posts 5 messages in the forums.

    Selling Art
Artists can sell their work to other users in the Creative Exchange. See the Art Shops Forum Rules and Guidelines for more information.

    Selling Donation Items
If you can afford to donate to Zantarni with real money, you can buy gems and sell them, or use the gems to buy donation items and sell those. Otherwise, you can try buying low and selling for higher prices in order to make a profit.
For more information on gems and donating to Zantarni, see the next subsection.
For information on selling items, see section 11.

zd006b. Gems and Donating for Them

Gems are received for donating and are used to buy items from the donation shop. Gems currently cost $2.00 U.S. dollars each.

Here is a step-by-step guide to donating over the internet.
    1. Click on the Donate for Gems link in the drop-down menu from the “Donate” button on the menu bar at the top of each page.
    2. Enter the number of gems you want in the "Amount" section, then click "Buy now!"
    3. Choose whether to pay with PayPal or another payment option. Enter the needed information, review the order, and continue. Make sure you remember the e-mail address you entered, and ensure that you keep a copy of your transaction receipt, in case of any problems.
    4. Click the "Claim your Gems" link, to return to Zantarni. You will be taken directly to your profile inventory, where your gems should have arrived.
Note: If the gems are not there, check to make sure that your payment has cleared. A checking account may take longer to clear than a credit card.
    5. Once you have your gems, go back to the “Donate” button on the menu bar. Click on the Donation Items shop link in the drop-down menu.
    6. Buy the items that you wish. Most donation items cost 1 gem each.

    zd006c. Event Currencies

There have been several special event currencies, their only use being to buy event items. During some previous events, event items could also be purchased with either gems or gold.

    • Bone
These were found randomly on pages around the site.
They first appeared for the Day of the Dead event, which ran from 7 to 14 August 2007. The bones were used to buy various items from a random event called the Bone Trader.
Bones were made available again from 11 September to 14 October 2007. The bones could be traded for the first four Crystal Orbs.
During the Halloween 2007 event, bones could be collected to trade for jack-o-lanterns and event gift boxes.
On 1 January 2008, all remaining bones were exchanged for gold by the Wizard, Shazaam.

    • Crystal Shard

zd007. Games

This section details the various games available on Zantarni.
To go to the games page, click on Explore --> Games on the top navigation bar. The drop-down menu leads to Zantarni Games or 300 Games.

Each game has a high score list composed of the top 100 scores.
The scores may not be permanent, since they have been reset on previous occasions: due to cheaters, and for a competition.

At the moment, all games are free to play; in other words, they do not require energy to play. However, if you have energy, the games will still take away energy due to a glitch.

    zd007a. Orb Finder

In Orb Finder, you control a single head (at the top left corner of the screen at the start of the game) using your arrow keys. The point is to collect as many orbs as you can, without touching the walls. If you touch a wall, your character will die. As your character moves along the paths, you can collect gems or coins. Points are awarded for each gem or coin collected.

Currently, no gold is granted from Orb Finder. If you earn at least 200 points and submit your score, you will win a Witches Broom. You can only win this item once.

    zd007b. Defender

In Defender, you control a knight. You must move him along the bottom of the screen to dodge arrows while clicking the mouse rapidly to fire arrows at the enemy. Each enemy killed is worth 1 point. If an enemy or an arrow touches you, you die. The gray castle wall sections can protect you from one hit each.

Normally, Defender has a payout rate of 25%, or 25 gold per 100 points.
When gameplay is free, it has a payout rate of 11.6%, or 11.6 gold per 100 points.

Tip: Aim for the right or left flank of the approaching enemy. The longer the enemy takes to reach the sides of the screen, the longer it takes for the enemy to reach you.

    zd007c. Prison Rescue

In Prison Rescue, you control at first a single head and then an ever-growing line of heads using your arrow keys. The point is to collect as many brown boxes as you can without touching the edges of the screen or your own heads. Each box is worth 10 points.

Normally, Prison Rescue has a payout rate of 50%, or 50 gold per 100 points.
When gameplay is free, it has a payout rate of around 25.7%, or 25.7 gold per 100 points.

Warning: The game has been known to freeze if the screen is completely filled by your line of heads.

    zd007d. Gem Collector

In Gem Collector, you control a red circle with a blue square in it using your arrow keys. The objective is to collect gems and coins while not touching any of the skulls or skeletons. Each gem is worth 10 points, and each coin is worth 1 point. Gems cause the moving line of skulls to speed up, while coins do not.

Normally, Gem Collector has a payout rate of 80%, or 80 gold per 100 points.
When gameplay is free, it has a payout rate of around 25.5%, or 25.5 ZG per 100 points.

Tip: If you are having trouble keeping up with the line of skulls, try keeping near the center of the screen or just collecting coins.

    zd007e. Gem Catcher

In Gem Catcher, you control a knight using your arrow keys. Move in any direction in order to avoid your enemies while catching gems, shields, and heads. Gems are worth 10 points each, shields are worth 50 points each, and heads give an extra life.

Normally, Gem Catcher has a payout rate of 20%, or 20 gold per 100 points.
When gameplay is free, it has a payout rate of around 8.5%, or 8.5 gold per 100 points.

Warning: Past level six, you need to watch out for enemies rising beneath you.

    zd007f. Skullz

In Skullz, you control a head using your arrow keys. You need to collect different types of shields while avoiding the skulls that appear. The higher your points go, the more skulls appear and the faster they move. Touching a skull will kill you.

The different point values for the shields are:
    Earth: 5
    Wind: 10
    Water: 20
    Fire: 40
    Light/Good: 100
    Dark/Evil: 100

Normally, Skullz has a payout rate of 25%, or 25 gold per 100 points.
When gameplay is free, it has a payout rate of around 10.4%, or 10.4 gold per 100 points.

Tip: Try moving around two or more skulls to get them to come together. It makes them easier to avoid later and can be done for as long as you have the patience or the skill.

    zd007g. 300 Games

The 300 Games are only for fun and do not grant gold, but there are high score lists and prizes may be given to the best players.

zd008. Foraging to Weapon Smith

Foraging of all types can be done through links from the Town.

There are currently two types of foraging: for fish or raw materials. Foraged items can be sold to the Trader (see subsection 8d) or to other users (see subsection 11b).

Foraging requires energy (NRG). See section 9 for more information.

Raw materials obtained from foraging in the mine can be used to forge. See subsection 8c.

    zd008a. Mining

To forage for raw materials, go to the Mines of Caernaur from Town. Then, click on the "Start Digging" button. You may or may not earn an item.
Sometimes, it will not show that you received an item even when you did. Do not worry; you will not get into trouble, and the items are not considered to be illegal or glitched.

Each foraging attempt costs 5 energy. See section 9 for more information.

Items that can be gained from mining are listed below. You can sell to the Trader for the price in parentheses.

    1. Copper Ore - 50 ZG (25 ZG)
    2. Gold Ore - 250 ZG (125 ZG)
    3. Iron Ore - 35 ZG (17.5 ZG)

    zd008b. Fishing

To forage for fish, go to the Lake of Meryze from the Town. Then, click on the "Cast Your Line" button. You may or may not earn an item.
Sometimes, it will not show that you received an item even when you did. Do not worry; you will not get into trouble, and the items are not considered to be illegal or glitched.

Each foraging attempt costs 5 energy. See section 9 for more information.

Note: there is currently no fishing rod available, as mentioned by the fishing NPC. The Jimmy Rod (sold in the Weapon Shop) has no effect on fishing.

Items that can be gained from fishing are listed below. You can sell to the Trader for the price in parentheses.

    1. Angel Shark – 120 ZG (60 ZG)
    2. Baby Sandeater – 50 ZG (25 ZG)
    3. Blob Fish – 35 ZG (17.5 ZG)
    4. Bottom Blob – 25 ZG (12.5 ZG)
    5. Candy Fish – 200 ZG (100 ZG)

    9. Pink Ink – 75 ZG (37.5 ZG)
    10. Sea Horse – 80 ZG (40 ZG)

    zd008c. The Forge

To get to the Forge, you need to go to the Town.

Before forging, you need to mine for raw materials, as listed in subsection 8a above.
At the moment, fishing items are of no use in the Forge.
You need to have all of the necessary raw materials and gold (ZG) before the Forge will work.
You can only forge one item at a time.

The list of refined resources you can make is listed below. You can sell to the Trader for the price in parentheses.

    1. Cut Stone – 60 ZG (30 ZG)
    2. Cut Wood – 45 ZG (22.5 ZG)
    3. Refined Bronze – 450 ZG (225 ZG)
    4. Refined Copper – 220 ZG (110 ZG)
    5. Refined Gold – 2,500 ZG (1,250 ZG)

    8. Refined Tin – 195 ZG (97.5 ZG)
    9. Tanned Leather – 35 ZG (17.5 ZG)

    zd008d. Trader

The Trader, linked to from the Town, is the easiest way to sell items that you earn from foraging, or refined resources from the Forge.
Click on the "Sell Me" link alongside the item you wish to sell, wait for the screen to reload with a new pop-up box, enter your selling price and how many of the item you wish to sell, and click "Sell To Trader".

    Please note:
    1. If you are using Internet Explorer, the Trader may not work. Try downloading Firefox instead.
    2. Sometimes other users will pay more than the Trader will. See subsection 11b for more information on selling to other users.

    zd008e. Weapon Smith

To get to the Weapon Smith, you need to go to the Town.

At the Weapon Smith, you can forge refined resources, as listed in subsection 8c above. You need to have all of the necessary refined materials and gold (ZG) before the Weapon Smith will work.
The Weapon Smith's Create List shows links for Levels 0, 1, 2 and 3. Only Levels 0 and 1 are currently available for use. More information will be added, as this is developed.

You first of all need to make a full set of 6 Tools, using the Level 0 link.
You can only make one item at a time.
The tool types are as follows:

    1. Basic Axe
    2. Basic Pickaxe
    3. Basic Chisel
    4. Basic Hammer
    5. Basic Tongs
    6. Basic Saw
Note: there are known to be another two tools, which have not yet been released:
    7. Basic Anvil - not currently available
    8. Basic Smelt - not currently available
Note: For the Weapon Smith to make your chosen weapon, you need to have all of the necessary refined materials and gold (ZG), and also you need to have all 6 tools equipped to your tool belt. Durability is only lost by the tools actually used to make the weapon.
  • Equipping a Tool
In the tools section in your wardrobe, you will see a red [+ Tool Belt +] link beneath each tool, which will allow you to equip it to your tool belt.
To be effective at the Weapon Smith, tools must be equipped to your tool belt, by clicking on the [ + Tool Belt +] link.
You do not need to wear a tool on your avatar at the same time, although you may wear one, if you wish.

zd009. Energy

Energy (NRG) is, in a sense, currency used in order to perform actions such as playing games, foraging, training, doing good deeds, committing crimes, and battling in the Coliseum.

You can see how much energy you have on the NRG bar beneath your avatar on the right of the screen. With the basic stats, on Level 1, you can have a maximum of 25 NRG at one time. The maximum amount of NRG you can have at any one time increases, as you level up.

If you do not have enough energy left for a particular activity, you will be told that you cannot perform that action until you have replenished your energy. Energy regenerates over time; as you browse the forums, you will gain an increase of 21 NRG over a period of a few minutes. If you want to renew your energy more quickly, you need to eat food.

Gaining energy is very simple.
  • First, you need food, which you can buy in the Food Shop (from Town -> Zantarni Shops on the main tool bar).
When choosing which food to buy, keep in mind the maximum energy you can have at any one time, at your current level.

  • Food can also be bought from other users on the Citizens' Marketplace , or in the Market Exchange.
  • Food can be eaten from your profile inventory. Go to your profile and click on the Inventory link, below your avatar on the left of the screen. Click on “Food”, then on the “Eat Me” button, alongside the item you wish to eat.
  • Food can also be eaten from the Fast Food link, below your avatar on the right of the screen. Simply click on “Fast Food”, then on the “Eat” link, alongside the item you wish to eat.
  • You will need to eat a different number of food items to refill your energy completely, depending on your level. At Level 1, eating one food item refills the whole energy bar; this increases proportionately, as your maximum energy points increase.

Note: Keep in mind that you cannot go over your maximum amount of energy points, so, if you only have room for 25 NRG, it would be useless to eat another food item before using up your energy.

At the moment, the only foods available to buy are Shiny Red Apples and Blue Mushrooms, however, it has been said that in the future, fish may be able to be eaten, and other foods may also be introduced.

Golden Apples may be obtained occasionally in the Coliseum, as awards for wins in battle. They may also be sold occasionally in the Citizens' Marketplace. A Golden Apple gives 100 NRG points.
A Basket of 12 Golden Apples used to be available to buy from the Donation Items Shop, at a cost of 1 Gem.

zd010. Items

Zantarni has many different types of items. This section provides a general guide to those items and where to find them.

zd010a. Usable Items and the Profile Inventory

You can get to your profile by clicking on the head on the side navigation bar, or from My Zantarni on the tool bar.

Generally, all items in the profile inventory have, or will have, some sort of use. It has been said that each tome or book will have a different use. Fish cannot currently be eaten, but this may change in the future. Mining items can be used in forging. There are even some weapons or armor in some inventories, left over from when an old version of shops sold things to be used in the planned battle system. In some inventories you may even see a Bronze Hatchet, which currently has no use.

The profile inventory can currently hold an unlimited number of items, though there have been rumors that it may be limited eventually. If that did happen, you might be able to use forged materials to make storage boxes to increase the inventory's capacity.

Items on each page of a profile inventory always appear in alphabetical order. You can sort your inventory using the different links at the top:

  • Raw Material – your mining items
  • Refined Material – your refined resources from the Forge
  • Food – your food items
  • Fish – your fishing items
  • Gems & Items – your Gems and Tickets; Magical Tomes and Books, if you have any, are also found here.

One icon is shown for each different item type, with how many of that item you own on the right, in parentheses.

From your profile inventory, you can add items to the Citizens' Marketplace for sale by clicking on the “Sell Me” link (see subsection 11b). You can also eat food items from your inventory by clicking on the “Eat Me” link (see section 9, Energy).

zd010b. Clothing Items and the Wardrobe

The wardrobe can be found by clicking on the clothing image in the side navigation bar, or from My Zantarni on the tool bar.

Anything that you can wear is found in your wardrobe. You can choose to arrange your items in alphabetical or reverse alphabetical order, or in order of last wardrobe change, though there are seemingly random exceptions, and newer items tend to be ordered by when you acquired them. There is no known limit to the size of a wardrobe.

How many items will appear on each page is determined by the display you choose from the icons on the top bar:
  • – Detailed View
  • – Thumbnails View
  • – List View

The icons beside the items indicate what you can do with them.

  • To equip any item (except pets) to your avatar, simply click on it.
  • (red cross) – If you see this icon beside an item, then it cannot be equipped by your gender.
  • (figure with plus sign) – This equips a pet to your avatar.
  • (figure losing clothes) – This unequips items from you.
  • (gold coin) – This will place an item for sale on the Citizens' Marketplace or in the Auction House, or allow you to sell it back to the Trader. See subsections 11b, 11c and 11d for more details.

  • In the tools section in your wardrobe, you will see a red [+ Tool Belt +] link beneath each tool, which will allow you to equip it to your tool belt. See section 8 for more information.
  • In the tools and weapons sections in your wardrobe, you will see a red [+ Battle +] link beneath each tool or weapon that can be equipped for battle. See subsection 13c for more information.

You will also see the following information alongside each wardrobe item:
  • Attack
  • Defense
  • Weight
  • Durability

These values are related to the use of items in the battle system. Durability also relates to the use of tools at the Weapon Smith. These aspects are still being developed, which is why many item values currently appear as "0". See subsections 8e and 13c for more information.

You can sort your wardrobe using the search box at the top right. This will allow you to easily find items by typing in their name, or part name, e.g. typing in "eye" will show all Magical Eyes.

You can also sort your wardrobe using the different icons at the top.
  • (all) - This will show all of your wardrobe items.
  • (cloak) – This will show all of your cloaks.
  • (hammer) – This will show all of your tools.
  • (necklace) - This will show all accessories, including wings, eye-wear, necklaces, belts and background items.
  • (shirt and dress) - This will show all tops.
  • (pants and skirt) - This will show pants and other bottoms.
  • (underwear) - This will show bras, boxers, and other underwear.
  • (sword) - This will show weapons and other handheld items.
  • (glove and slipper) - This will show gloves and footwear.
  • (hat) - This will show any hats or headgear.
  • (bear) - This will show only pets.
Note: Moving pets may not work properly in Internet Explorer. You can try Firefox instead.

    zd010c. Orbs and Other Items

There are a few items that do not fit in any other category. Currently, this includes orbs and gift boxes.

  • There are ten types of orbs.

The first four orbs were Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. They were released as donation items, while Zantarni was trying to afford a new server.
The last one was the Dark Orb, also known as the Fifth Orb, and it is extremely rare. Some were found in a 2006 Christmas donation giftbox, only as often as Yorick's Day Wings, and a few others were given out as contest prizes.

The next set of five orbs are the Crystal Orbs. Again, there are Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Dark.
The first four were available from a Bone Trader event, lasting from September 11 to October 14, 2007. The Crystal Dark Orb could be randomly found in the Halloween Gift Boxes.

Each orb contains three weapons and a set of armor, based on the element of the orb. A list of known orb items is in the following section.
Item levels are between 1 and 4, with 4 being the highest. Item level is determined by how many orbs you have: if you have 1 orb, you will receive a Level 1 set of items; 2 orbs = Level 2 set; 3 orbs = Level 3 set; 4 or more orbs = Level 4 set.
To open an orb, go to your profile and click on [open] beneath the orb. So far, the Water, Earth, Air and Fire orbs can be opened.

  • Other items that you might see in profiles are gift boxes.

There were eight different gift boxes as donation items for Christmas 2006. Each contains a different item. Box 10 (boxes 8 and 9 did not exist) contained a random item, as listed in the next subsection. The two rarest items were Yorick's Day Wings and the original Dark Orb.

There were five different gift boxes as donation items for Halloween 2007, and another four were event items. The contents of the boxes were random, and some items were shared between boxes. The event boxes did not have the same items as the donation boxes. The rarest item known was the Crystal Dark Orb in the donation boxes.
