Queen Blaze-I'm sorry to hear that your son is taking this hard. Sad I imagine this is a catastrophe for him because he's so young. It takes humans a long time to realize that we're not immortal and that bad things happen. It helps me to think of our ancestors. They went through a lot of really, really bad stuff. All of us come from survivors made of strong stuff or we wouldn't be here. I really try to draw from the strength of that knowledge. We can do this! Very Happy Having said that, this situation does suck. I don't mean to make light of it, or anyone's reaction to it, I just won't let it get me down. I figure if I lose someone, or get really sick myself, I'll deal with it when/if it happens.

Wow! Shocked You did a lot of exercises. I went up and down our basement stairs 10 times (1=up & down) three days ago, I did some crunches, and some arm exercises. I haven't done it since because I pulled a groin muscle. XD I'm feeling better now so I should try to do it again today or tomorrow. Mostly I just do chores around the house. I figure any kind of movement is better than none. When I lost weight the last time I walked for an hour and a half every day, and I danced and exercised 30 minutes. Two hours total every day! Shocked I'm not there yet, mostly because the yard is so muddy and I'm never alone. I won't exercise in front of people. LOL I'll get there. I've already lost about 10 pounds. Very Happy

Crisis after crisis does get old. Sad

I'm glad the word searches were hard. My brain needs exercise. XD I'll try to come up with a list of words to make a new one. I'll PM it to you when I'm done.

Sir Scarz-I'm sorry you're having trouble in your state. I don't feel like mine has gone overboard considering the situation, but, other than going to the store, I don't get out much.

My dad and I talked about them sticking BS stuff in the bill too. Grr Politicians are so annoying and greedy. The fact that they took advantage of us, and put crap in there they may not otherwise get, during a crisis should really tell us something. It tells me that they're so corrupt we would be better off booting them all out and starting from scratch. Unfortunately, I believe the next bunch would be just as bad. That power goes to their heads. Where are good leaders when we need them?

re: the BS politicians and their "help"... Exactly! They all need to be booted out on their ****, IMO. The problem is that when push comes to shove at election time, I doubt people will actually vote these idiots out, regardless of how much these self-serving, misguided, egocentric power-hungry people show their true stripes now... opting instead to "stay with the devil we know" Rolling Eyes

Scarz, I'm sorry your local elected despot is being such a control freak. This entire situation is ripe for abuse (see last paragraph^^), which I don't like, and honestly, I'm perplexed why so many people don't seem to see that part of what's going on right now. I'm glad you managed to get some foodstuffs. Things are still rather hit-or-miss around here, particularly with the dietary limitations I have and "two" (one ATM) teenagers in the house.

Zukyun is being given a letter from his company that says he's part of the "essential support work staff" (or some such)... presumably just in case we end up at the road block phase of things while he's commuting to/from work... Rolling Eyes ... seriously?? This is scary as hell.

I have seen more license plates from PA, NY & NJ in my quick trip of ~5miles today to check on my mom than I have the entirety of last month! Apparently, people are still coming down here for "Spring Break" although ALL the beaches, all the parks, all the amusement parks, etc. ... EVERYTHING IS CLOSED. "Keep your contagion there, please!!" I am almost in favor of closing Florida's borders because of it...

Rayven, I applaud your perspective and encourage you to keep it!! I don't disagree with you at all, but personally keep vacillating between the two "sides" of this situation. I see the good things coming out of this weirdness and hope that it can be the spark for real, lasting, sustainable, empathetic/compassion-based change on this planet... but I also see the various opportunities for abuse by the politicians (who, as said previously, are proving without a doubt that they have higher more egocentric priorities than actually serving the populace of their country). I know we as a species will persevere, but I want more than just dumb luck determination to exist on the planet. Yet, if we adhere to the same paradigm of politicians, corporations and such that we have now, real change for the overall better isn't going to happen. BUT we shouldn't submit to socialism either (which my previous statement might suggest I'm supporting... I'm not). We need to have freedom and free will, but a fundamental change in perspective to "do the right thing", of our own free choice, because it is, quite simply, the right thing to do... if that makes sense (not coerced or forced upon us).

Also, my sons are just at the beginning of their adult lives - I want better for them than this!!

thunk Shrug

I've done nothing today in terms of exercising, Rayven. I checked in on my mom and we cut each other's hair (probably the weirdest hair cut I've had for a while! XD ). I'm tired (was up at 5am), and although what I did yesterday is not what I'd really call working out (for me), I am a little sore. And I'm concerned for my eldest - he's still moping around a bit. He'll process this and be fine... eventually. I've set up various "distractions" around the house for any of us who might need it... to do as we go by... a game of jenga... a puzzle... a family coloring book... a recipe for homemade bread... etc.

Me? I'm about here right now:

I'm sure you'll get there. And weirdly, I completely get this. It's one thing to go on a walk or even out to the gym... it's something else completely to do a real workout in your house, while others are walking around. It's weird!!!

Yes, and we're all guilty of that. Even if we wanted to get them out, all politicians are pretty much the same. We need people to vote for that think like the group that wrote our constitution.

I completely understand and agree. It's a shame there's so many bad, greedy people out there.

*is picturing Queen Blaze with crazy hair* XD Also, you're like Super Mom putting out all of those distractions. I never would have thought to do that. <3

I don't think most people are greedy or bad or power-hungry... most are just doing what they can to live life. It's just the politicians who tend to be that way, apparently... the best leaders are those who usually don't want to lead... yet we have a multi-generational, dynastic type government at this point ... and most people don't seem to think this is an issue (or something)? I don't get it.

Wow! Idiots!

I may have been exaggerating slightly, but yes, I did notice several plates from those locations on my way to and from Mom's - the short distance that it is. It was a bit of a surprise, given the current circumstances with this bug! Usually at this time of year there are almost more out-of-state plates than there are Florida plates, but with things such that they are, I wasn't expecting to see so many! The contagion these folks bring with them from that hot spot is just a "bonus" Rolling Eyes

XD Did I mention my hair is also blue at the moment... or what's left of it, anyway! It's ... short. Like really short. Shorter than I usually keep it (it's pretty much buzzed). I may dye it again just so it's more uniform in color... or I'll get used to the "skunk" look (or whatever you want to call this, but the top is definitely still blue/black, and everything else is ... uhhhh... not. XD It doesn't help that my natural color (although what's left of it is pretty dark at the moment), is in the red (and gray) spectrum...) So yeah - crazy hair. XD It feels good though...

OK - I have DIs and graphics to work on for you guys, and a high school transcript or two to put together!

LOL... sorry for the delayed reply - I was a little busy putting things together for April 1st eBil Ninja ... yes, my hair is currently blue (whatever is left of it after that haircut, anyway!).

So a lot of new free educational and interesting resources are coming my way through my homeschooling connections - I'm not sure how many of them some of you guys are aware of, but I thought I'd share a couple in case you're looking for something to do as we remain in our houses for the foreseeable future... like Virtual Museum Tours and free college classes from the Ivy League schools... or virtual Disney theme park rides. There are also links for virtual tours of numerous national parks, concerts, etc. (but I'd have to find them)

How's everyone holding up?

Virtual tours sound cool. I'll have to check those out when I get time. Thanks for the links, Queen Blaze. Very Happy

I'm still doing OK. It's getting harder to find TP, but other than that not much has changed. How are you doing? Is your son feeling better?

You're welcome. I hope you find something enjoyable in that small list (there are several more things along those lines already posted and made available, or coming out!).

I'm doing fine, thanks. And yes, I think he's doing better - he's just anxious to get out and start his life as an independent young adult... and can't.

I'm glad your family is well. Yeah, and at his age, this is a catastrophe. XD I remember that. Every time something bad happened I thought it was the end of the world. LOL Of course, your son has more right to feel that way than I ever did. This is serious business.

Thanks Rayven. He's handling it fairly well. Fortunately, he's a pretty even-tempered, logical kid...errm... young adult... but his timing is right to be wanting to do these things - it's just 'the world gone mad' part of things that... well, it's understandable if he feels a bit thwarted and melancholic from time to time. I'm just glad he's still at home. This would be so much worse if he had transitioned to being on his own in the last year (honestly, I would have called him home under those circumstances)

How are you holding up?

I wouldn't blame you for that. I've heard a lot of parents asked their kids of any age to come home. I'm already there so I didn't have to worry about that. XD

I'm doing better. Thank you for asking. Heart I was doing really great and then last week I started having nightmares and becoming irritable. It took me a bit to figure it out but I think I was more stressed out by this than I thought. I just let myself feel and now I'm doing better. I still can't wait for it to be over though.

On Saturday, the thunderbirds did a flyover of the Vegas Strip and hospitals as a salute to the First Responders and the work the hospitals are doing. . .

https://www.foxnews.com/us/coronavirus-las-vegas-flyover-air-force-military-first-responders

They flew so low over my house that you could read the tail numbers on the aircraft. . .it was pretty cool. . .and LOUD!

The joke going around is that it had to be the Thunderbirds and not the Navy's Blue Angels, because the Blue Angels fly closer than 6 feet apart. . .

That's awesome. Very Happy I bet it was loud. I lived near the airport when I lived in the city. Sometimes the military planes got too low and did tricks. It freaked me out. XD I was afraid they'd fall on my apartment. The commercial planes never did that so I wasn't as scared of them.

XD

Give me an "H". . .give me an "E". . .give me an "A". . .give me a "T". . .What's it spell?. . .HEAT!!!!!
