<-- [Oct 2014] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Dec 2014] -->
It doesn't matter if you live in the Northern or Southern hemisphere, because this November, we pay tribute to all four of the seasons!
So what do you think of this month's items?
Is there something you particularly liked about them?
Is there something you think could be improved?
Any other thoughts?
Winter
Spring
Summer
and Fall
======
Looking forward to next month...
With St. Yorick's coming up next month, do you want a more seasonal set of DI's? Or would you prefer something totally different?
What kind of DIs do you want/think the theme will be for December?

This month's DI's are not my cup of tea at all. They're pretty, but I never use backgrounds (I don't really on any site). I've just never been a fan for whatever reason. /shrugs The theme for the month is okay, though it would have been nice to have them released winter with the winter solstice, spring with the vernal equinox, summer with the summer solstice, and fall with the autumnal equinox (or to have a set with a different type of item(s) in it). But, that's just me.
It's good to see that others really like them though.
As for next month, I'm honestly hoping for wings. It feels like forever since we've gotten a nice new set of wings that I've really been able to enjoy (I think the Angel Shark wings were the last ones put out that I actually used). It'll be interesting regardless, hopefully the items are some that will be a bit more my style, if they're not hopefully others will enjoy them. _________________

They're all gorgeous, but Summer wins because it has the Summer Falls background <3 That background is seriously the most beautiful background I've seen on here.
I want to see fantasy Yorick items next month <3
And I'll agree with Dusty, WINGS

I voted for all of the above, since they are all lovely, and I don't think it's possible for me to pick a favorite. The thing that could have been improved: Winter should not be listed first. Winter is coming soon here, and I'm not looking forward to it. AT ALL. Gave me a turn to go into the announcement thread and see all that snow first thing. _________________

I loved them all and I can't decide which one. I do love autumn though since that's my favorite season but to be honest the backgrounds shall be abused seasonally.
I would love to see Yorick Items for next month. Since I remember in the past how amazing Yorick items were. I still wish I had gotten those wings but I was poor back then so if Yorick wings appear again or in some form definitely not missing that chance again!

I had to vote for "all of the above", because I love all four sets this month! I love using backgrounds, and there are some beautiful new ones here, for every season of the year. I've also always loved the Castle Window, and am very happy to see it in seasonal variations. _________________

@Dusty: Oh, you don't like/usually use backgrounds? I actually really like them myself. Before we had them, I used to always look for wings or a cloak as a finishing touch, but now I always go for a background item.
Wings are always nice to have though, so hopefully we'll get them in some form :3
@Kio: I'll bet the pixelist who made the summer falls background really appreciates your comment
I read that she tried out a new pixeling method with it too, so it's good to hear it paid off!
Fantasy Yorick items do sound nice! I'd actually love to see some high fantasy stuff sometime in the future, that'd be fun.
And yus, I am a black mage! FEAR MY TERRIFYING MAGICAL SKILL
@Pagan!
I'm sorry I kept the same order for this thread then, too late to change it now though xD
@Bookworm Tea: It was hard for me to choose too, but I really liked the colours of autumn, so that tipped me in it's favour.
Yorick items are always nice, especially with that golden shade they're usually in. The mini-yoricks were definitely a nice treat to get in the past, especially considering how hard it is to obtain the original yorick wings
@Nema: I've also always liked the castle window as well, so I was really glad to see all these variations. I was kind of hoping that the windows would all be together in one set so I could get them all in one go, but they definitely fit into each of the seasonal sets very nicely.
@Turtle: I really liked the whole concept of having a rainbow umbrella beneath a stormy sky above
I also really liked the cherry blossom tree as well.

Besides what I wrote above, I have to say that I am quite satisfied with the sets this month. And I'm guessing that most of you are as well since the majority of the votes have been 'all of the above'. The only thing I think might have been nice were if the colour of the stone of the windows were adjusted to fit in with the colour pallet of the different seasons a bit more. Also, since the avi covers the middle of the background, maybe plan them out a bit so that the bgs are more stretched out and detailed on the edges. But this is minor stuff really, and I think that overall they all turned out pretty good x3
Oh and even though I do love me some backgrounds, it might have been nice to have a bit more variety in the sets for people who don't enjoy them as much. _________________

*nods* I've tried using backgrounds before, but I feel like they take away from my avatar (like something is missing), so I prefer to use cloaks and wings still. *shrugs* They're very pretty. Part of me wishes that I could have a nice little display case for them. I just doubt I'll be able to actually utilize them and be happy with how my avatar looks.
I'm really happy that so many others like them though! _________________

I can understand where you're coming from. Usually I don't like to use body modifiers (like mermaid tails that get rid of the legs, or the baron collar, even though I really like the headless effect) or masks that cover the whole face (I say, as I wear the watcher's gaze, lol). I'm not really sure why, but I think it's because I like to see the whole body of the avi and feel like these items detract from it as well, even though I really do like some of them. _________________

The problem I have with most backgrounds here is that they're pretty by themselves, but once they're behind an avatar too much of the image gets lost. That's why the Wintertide Lake is my favorite - it doesn't look like the avi is getting in the way. And I really prefer its shape over the usual rectangular ones (even if it looks weird next to a post, but in the upper corner it's great). _________________

I know what you mean Manah, I was talking about that earlier as well. I almost wish you could shift the bg around so you could show the parts of it that you want.
I do like the non-linear bg of that item as well. Gives it almost a painted look. _________________
