I believe the Byzantine was apart of the very, very early Middle ages. That would be a great place to start on expanding the fashion of the site.

*Nods* It started right before the earliest Middle ages until until the late Middle ages, so it would be a great place to start! Adding Renaissance styles could help branch out as well, while still keeping the same feel. Expanding hair and colors would be wonderful as well. Seeing how peasants to royalty each had hairstyles that would be worn to help show ranks, which was fairly normal, so a few of the different styles would be nice. Laughing

*Nods* Each area has their own unique twist on the style and color so it should be fairly easy to expand on the few styles we have now for different regions. Of course that may mean studying styles.. Laughing
I'll admit, I'm feeling pretty lazy to study different styles atm... but it is a good idea to help expand the site styles. Hopefully I can force myself at some point to do a little style study to help put together some references for the pixelists for inspiration Yes

@Turtle: I think you're the only one who's voted for the monarch set on the poll so far. I think I like the vest/shirt combo the most in that set.

@Moon: I actually had to look up byzantine to see that it was the greek speaking portion of the east roman empire. And I have to say that I've always like the flowing robes of greek/roman clothing, so the Byzantine type clothes I saw in a quick search looked really nice.

@Daku: I know we already have a few renaissance type clothing, so I'd love to see more as well. More hair as well would be good, since it really does help to show rank and personality as you've said Yes

Yeah, it's more time consuming then anything. Maybe a study team can be formed? Each take a different style to find references and information. That way the work load isn't as large and it can be done in a shorter period.

The renaissance clothing we have now are wonderful and that period was know for corsets and "shapes" of the clothing. I'd love to see more because of the corsets.. XD The colors are also very similar to the middle ages, while the only big difference between the two was that the middle ages where more relaxed and loose clothing.

Slight rant:
The only thing I probably wouldn't like to see was the middle ages "high forehead" hairstyles, more or less because they'd pull their hair out for what was considered standard beauty at the time.

Good idea, I'll have to try and see if anyone's interested in making a study team in the dungeons to help expand the styles. And if not, it'll be good to establish a base at least to store the info.

And yush, corsets are always awesome looking!

I never knew about that high forhead style. That actually reminds me of one of the hairstyles we currently have on the site:

I've always liked this hairstyle, but avoid using it sometimes because I don't like the high forhead.

-looks at the date-
I better get off to making a june di thread!

I'm glad you like that idea, it makes it simple to start. XD I'll help here and there when I can, I do disappear every so often though. With getting ready for the baby it's hard to do everything.
*Nods* Definitely! I still hope that more will pop up on here. lol

Yeah, women would pull up to 2" of their hair off to increase the length of their forehead. It also would show "higher" rank, but to go that far for beauty.. Body modification will always be part of trying to achieve perfection I suppose.

I really like that hairstyle as well but avoid using it for the same reason. It is still rather pretty of a style.
Lol Yeah, time for the new one.

I'm pretty sure we are well beyond our hair being like that of the middle ages.

Very true. Now it's dyeing hair that seems to be the modification that most prefer for hair.

I'm rubbish at doing my hair. I would love to be able to do victory curls, ect but nope.

I'm sure the fact that my hair is very wavy and fly away isn't helping.

I can do a bit with mine, but curls don't like to stay for more then a few hours at the most. And I can't use hairspray..
It could be, some hair just has a mine of it's own. Like mine stay's straight when short but I get full waves when it's really, really long. XD
Have you tried to straighten your hair a bit before trying? It helps some so they can fix their's the way they'd like it.

I have, I am just really clumsy with that kind of thing.

It also doesn't help that my hair is fairly uneven in the front.

I don't seem to have posted here, although I know I voted earlier. Still time (only just) for a belated last word on the May DIs.

The Sovereign was my favourite, as I will be able to use more pieces from that set, and I love the bow and arrows and the arrows in the grass. I'm not really a 'crown-wearing' Elf, but this one is small and delicate, so it may be possible… I also like the cloak from the Monarch set.

And now let's all move on to the June DIs topic, to talk about the new items!
