Our pixelist has had her computer go "Kablooey!" and we will not have DI Sets ready for November, or probably not even early December at this point... especially given the sheer chaos that next week is with the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday and the official beginning of the Winter Holiday season (really, I don't know how I've managed to get DIs prepped and released for December 1st in previous years... I attribute it to personally just being absolutely insane).
In fact, given the extremely limited amount of activity we've had on Zantarni in recent months/years, at this point, I think that going forward, the Zantarni Staff will provide DI Sets as we are able going forward... which means that we may not have new sets or items every month, depending on the schedules and availability of individual staff members. That said, we still have server fees to pay each month, and your continued financial support to keep Zantarni online is greatly appreciated.

How do I donate to Zantarni?
I may not have much to offer for now (I dread the day I become a proper commission artist, and thus, have to fill extreme furry requests lol), but I still want to keep Zantarni alive seeing it had a decent part of my childhood.

Zantarni needs a few things at this point, Tam... a lot of which might be taken care of with an updated forum structure, but my attempts to set one up didn't work out, and I've since stopped banging my head against that particular wall... :/

Basically, I personally can't do it at this point - I have been out of technology for too many years to write the kind of coding that needs to be written and to do the kinds of things that need to be done in order to finish setting up the base forum and to integrate it with the current, essential, and extremely archaic, Zantarni systems (like the clothing systems) in order to create a newer version of the site... to put something that still resembles the Zantarni we all know and love, in to place, while updating the forum.
And, I haven't had the time, patience, existing knowledge or connections, or the finances available to try to outsource the tech stuff ... and because going that route is a whole different set of severe headaches (at least for me) and it's probably easier and less painful overall to just do it myself (which is not an appealing or feasible idea)  
The base forum is up and more-or-less functional and online, but it needs soooooo much work and I just can't do it for the reasons mentioned above, and for several other iRL reasons as well... and yeah, I'm pretty much burnt out with a lot of things at this point :/

My avatar doesn't have an adequate amount of black clothes wear to properly mourn my old hard drive...  But it's mostly back in order and I didn't lose anything, so I can get my head around making art again here soon, woot!
I sympathize, Blaze - I went to art school to learn animation, only I never really had the opportunity to do it extensively/professionally, and now it's been so many years and the tech has passed me by (I spent a good while learning programs like Flash and Director, and they don't even exist now). Basically I'd have to go back to school and relearn everything.
I also imagine replacing the forums at this point would be like changing a tire on a car while it's still rolling. Not an easy undertaking.

Ahhhh. Much sympathy.
Also much gladness that the tools I work with don't go out of date unless I'm stupid enough to break one (which is hard to do if I buy the metal needles and hooks).

LOL Zakiyah! - I remember using Flash and Director!
And yes, that's the kind of situation we're in right now here... but in this case, it's also having to go back and deal with an archaic technology and drag it in to (and sync it with) the more modern tech
 
Old school traditional tools and skills go a long long way Tam. This techie stuff is for the birds!
... but that's the situation, guys. And I'm sorry.

~Wow that's actually funny I'm in the same boat. I learned about Maya and since my computer died haven't been able to touch the program in so long. Remember bits and pieces but still.
Drawing isn't too bad, but then again this is coming from someone who's mostly drawn animals. Though I don't draw anything, well guess you could say nothing too out there out there. ~

I never get on these sites anymore and just randomly thought about Zantarni earlier.
I'm sorry to hear of the site's troubles, Blaze. I hope things work out somehow. I have good memories on here from my childhood/teens.

Exactly.
...and that's a big part of what's going on here too - what we all are dealing with... it's not just lack of posting or activity in the forums, or that Zantarni is on an older platforms or using older tech, or that transitioning us to a newer platform is an unrealistic task for me to accomplish at this point. The nature of games and social platforms has changed significantly since Zantarni's inception in 2006, and people seem to have moved on to other things. So even if updating the architecture and forum structure was realistic, I'm not sure it would truly revive the site.

I've been dealing with way too much for a long time (who hasn't been, at this point).
Husband was diagnosed with Asperger's. We've been on the edge of divorce for the last year or two. It's better now, but we still have a lot of work to do. And there's so much hurt that we still need to work through.
I left the emergency department and moved to a different unit. That has been amazing, but I've been burnt out for a long time now. I haven't wanted to be a nurse for the last two years.
Also had a spiritual/identity crisis and left my religion of 15 years and church of eight years.
I've changed my antidepressants around and now I just want off both of them forever.
We had two fully mature trees fall and almost hit our house (one destroyed the spa cover). And the solar company destroyed our roof and we've been fighting with the company's insurance.
Not to mention health issues with both of us mixed in.
Add on me being extra extra exhausted from iron deficiency that isn't getting corrected with supplements.
If I had more energy for things I enjoy doing, Zantarni would still be one of them. /Heavysigh
