Mostly loud drumming and chanting around here, but it usually actually sounds like music. This was just incredible horrid racket that triggered the BLEEPITY out of me.

Oh yas. Very Happy

Ugh that does sound awful! (Pun intended? I guess it more of a sentence structure comedy)

Ohh what makes you a fan? They seem to only hire people who are huge fans if you're ever looking Wink

Word play? *reads and rereads* Ugh, I can't see it. Splain?

It's just so cool the way they're made and how far they can go, and how sturdy they are in their workings. I can't even remember the details right now, but I remember watching a video about them (never actually SEEN anymore than my little toy one) and being impressed. And it takes a lot for a car that's not a Mustang to make me impressed. XD Ah, that'd have to wait. Right now I'm doing my best with a one day a week casual job. I'm working on being at work without getting overloaded in the senses. Right now crocheting pot scrubbers seems to help.

Sound awful - like the sound is awful and is a normal phrase to mean bad

It’s really cool you were taking a step and found something that helps you, I never thought about crocheting pot scrubbers!!!

I feel you will enjoy knowing my husband has a Mustang (eco 2015?) as well, but he’s up for a new car this year too
I really should know the car year Embarassed
I am NOT a car person

OH gotcha! LOL

Well, I don't like being useless. And yeah, it's a funny pattern, especially with the furry scrubby yarn. The yarn's got scrubby sections and smooth sections, so every scrubber looks different. There's a bath poof pattern too, I want to see if I can get that one and try it.

Oooo. What colour? Awwwww. But 'Stangs are good for a long long time!

...I love some cars (and many robots who turn into cars), but I can't remember years either.

A transformer fan too?

He has a red one but we'll be trading it out this year. The AC portion was basically a lemon but he choose to suffer with it for years

I am amazed and how never considered all the different yarn type! There is a scrubby yarn?

Just jumping in, not a big fan of cars that drive themselves. . .if I wanted someone to drive me, I'd take the bus or Uber. It is about control, as I also prefer not to ride when my friends drive as I feel they pay less attention to the road than I do. . .

I like the looks of a Tesla, but I know a couple people who have them and they are snobs about them, especially when talking about how much they are helping the environment, that is until I point out that they aren't because they are recharging them at home, using electricity provided by coal-fired or gas powered power plants. (I love pointing it out when they get snooty). I just wish their prices were more reasonable. (not everyone that I know, who has one is a snob, some just love the car and technology. . .Dee Snyder of Twisted Sister fame has one, so Lady Yoari, you are in good company Wink )

Although, if I had the money, I would rather buy a 1965 or 66 Mustang fastback restomod. . .I have always loved those
cars.

FYI, I am not a fan of "super heroes" as most of the Marvel and DC ones have veered so far away from the originals. . .and I never got into Transformers.

LMBO They're my primary fan and RP base! The most focused on denizens of my multiverse.

Ahhhhh. No way to repair the AC?

Yes. There are a few brands of scrubby yarn! It's furry, but the furries are rough. Some are all furry, and some have patches of furry mixed in with plain heavy cotton dishcloth yarn.

I thank thee Lady Tam for overlooking my idiosyncrasies Smile.

*sighs* Another example of why I hate what they are doing to the super heroes of my youth; in the first issue of the United States of Captain America, he says, "…The first American dream is the one that isn't real. It's one some people expect to just be handed to them… When the truth is, it never really existed in the first place… other cultures. Immigrants… We're at our best when we keep no one out. A good dream is shared. Shared radically. Shared with everyone. When something isn't shared, it can become the American lie."

He should be demoted and have America stripped from his name. . .Private Woke. . .*shakes head*. . ."We are at our best when we bring in LEGAL Immigrants". . .if the American Dream is dead, why do so many people want to come here Legally and Illegally??? THE AMERICAN DREAM IS STILL ALIVE!

Oh THERE IS... someone just got it refilled each summer and was told to come back once the coolant ran out (since they added a dye and could find the leak). It never ran out until fall when we didn't need AC so he didn't go again.... Then repeat each summer

Now it's out of warranty *shrugs*

Seeing as my ancestors just sailed over and plopped down I can't really blame others for wanting a better life and just coming Laughing

Well I believe people come here for a dream it rarely happens but hey there are only 2 first world countries in the Americas soooo slim pickings if you have to walk

The dream is still alive. . .A Black man was President of the United States, Obama was elected to serve 2 terms! Another Black man, born in poverty and raised by a single Mom went from being a troubled kid to being one of the greatest brain surgeons ever, Dr. Ben Carson. . .

Many Legal Immigrants come here and find their American Dream. . .to some it is just being able to own property, others it is to start businesses. Everyone has their own idea of what the American Dream is. No dream is attained without hard work. The biggest American Dream of them all is something most didn't feel they had in their home country. . .Freedom!

The German/Austrian side of my family came over here as British mercenaries (Hessians) who switched sides for 30 acres of land in Maryland. . .the Irish side of my family were brought here as indentured servants. . .while the English legally migrated here in the early 1900's.

The biggest problem I see nowadays, is with an education system that seems to be brainwashing our kids to hate their own country. Proof of the brainwashing is in the words of Captain America (Private Woke) I wrote above. If someone thinks the American Dream is not attainable, perhaps they are not working hard enough to reach their dream.

WE are not perfect. . .no country is perfect; but more people want the American Dream, than dreams of any other country. . .and so many are willing to take the hard road of Legal Immigration.

IMHO!

Apparently I too am brainwashed through schooling Laughing

Yes Obama was president but at the same time they forced him for his birth certificate. We still have stories of overt racist behavior on the community level all the way to the national level (insurrection). While I am glad it is not a majority of the country there is still an tone of racism amongst the strides that have been made. Old laws still stand, minorities are treated and sentenced differently.

Ah Ben Carson, he has always confused me. Doesn't like food stamps but had them as a kid. No war on women, just their insides... like we can be separated from them? Obamacare had it's flaws but equating it to the Gestapo? That's just purposeful to enrage people. He was a brilliant doctor from what I know but no one can be great at everything.

I guess it does depend who defines the dream - in this case I am using Wikipediaes lol.
"The American Dream is a national ethos of the United States, the set of ideals (democracy, rights, liberty, opportunity and equality) in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, as well as an upward social mobility for the family and children, achieved through hard work in a society with few barriers. In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth."

This dream is hindered by barriers, like stagnant wages and college costs. From the pandemic we learned most Americans have no savings, or at least no where near enough. Healthcare is based on employment which can be ended without notice and, if needed, can wreck any household budget. Social safety nets are being cut, money for schools and the future generation is cut. Housing costs (near me at least) have skyrocketed. No amount of "hustle" can overcome these barriers for a majority of people. We are so focused on having to earn something we spend more money policing homelessness than fixing it by giving them a place to stay (it blew my mind to learn that was the cheaper option?!?).

I have my own views on what freedom is but I doubt we match
I guess you could say we are both free to our views Laughing

I wouldn't say people learn to hate America. We are just learning about our country, not the glossed over version in history class (I had never even heard of Tulsa until last year). Every country, ours included, has done terrible things. We need to learn about them and understand why so we can fix the root cause to them and heal and grow. You can be ashamed of our past and look to make a better future - or became Salem, Mass and make it a tourist attraction XD.

Immigration is a whole other thing but short story - we could rev that process to make it better.

I am gonna be rolling in the Zg for this post, make it rain!

You do know that it was Hillary Clinton's staff that started the whole "Birther movement", don't you? She was looking for any advantage when she ran against him. . .it was picked up by the right later.

WE may not agree on much, or maybe nothing at all, that is another part of Our freedom.
