Yeah Cuomo sent anyone who was found to have covid19, back to the nursing homes and the nursing homes HAD TO ACCEPT THEM. . .same with the governor of NJ. . .and now they try to blame it on the President, unbelievable. Cuomo could have sent them to the field hospital that was set up in the Javits Center, or to the Navy Hospital Ship. . both of which were rarely used before they were shut down.

The other thing I loved about Cuomo was how he kept telling people to stay home. . .that they would be safe if they stayed home. . .and then he had a briefing with a beautiful graphic of where people were infected and 66% of those infected were. . . .you guessed it. . .AT HOME!!!

After what happened in the State of Washington, ALL governors should have made nursing homes their highest priority!

They have just revealed that the nursing home here concealed their true numbers. . .if that is the case whoever is responsible for that should be prosecuted!

Yes, Lady Rayven, I am not taking any chances after going to the supermarket and finding that someone had actually stolen the tp from their restroom. . .ewwwwwww!

I have no doubt that the numbers are higher everywhere.

*pictures Ernest P. Worrell* XD I can't blame you for taking precautions, Sir Scarz. Carry on. I knew that was going to happen eventually.

Sadly, nursing homes were the most badly affected here as well.

Out of the 21 deaths, the majority were the age of 60 or over and 12 were from a nursing home.

I know this for certain because one of our band members is the maintenance manager at the hospital where they placed them.

They were all patients from the dementia ward of one of the local nursing homes. Poor souls. Sad

Facepalming at my boss today.
So she sends out an email yesterday at 1pm ti remind all staff that we need to wear masks "for the safety and comfort of our patrons" (our "patrons" at this point mainly being 1 or 2 people in to work on pottery in the clay room and no one else).
This is of course 30 minutes AFTER I've left for the day and she knows I don't have access to my work email at home. So of course today I am running late out the door, and not knowing that apparently I need a mask to walk down hallways, don't even think to grab one. So I get to work and read the message and don't think anything about it because I am generally cleaning. In areas where no one else is usually. So the only areas that are potentially problematic are the main hall and basement hall, so I figure it probably has more to do with people who are (potentially) directly dealing/interacting with people. Ex: gift shop person, executive director, education department people.
Oh no. Boss sees me without a mask and makes a big deal about sending a text to remind me that I need to be wearing a mask too.
So....I need to wear it all the time or just when walking down halls? Because no one is in the areas I am usually so the only potential interaction is in hallways...?

This is driving me crazy. No one is going to be coming to a museum with all this garbage going on. The only people desperate to come in are the people who were working on pottery before we had to close and want to come in to work on/finish projects! And they aren't exactly wandering the building.

(I mean...I get where she's coming from, but I think if she was gonna make such a big deal, she maybe should have sent an additional text reminder about the masks later yesterday afternoon/evening as well for the staff who didn't get the email or just as a gentle reminder rather than sending it when I wasn't able to read it and then getting mad that I didn't have one on to walk down an empty hallway.)

Lady Kaderin. . .or perhaps SHE should have provided masks, just in case someone didn't get the word. . .I have my own, but my company is providing them daily if someone doesn't have one or forgets theirs at home.

There are definitely some people going overboard about "masks" I saw a video where several women chased someone out of a store who didn't have one on (to me that is the store's responsibility to say if it is needed or not). . .about half the people in the supermarket do not have masks on. . .I even saw a guy freaking out because the cashier's mask wasn't covering his face (even though he was behind plexiglas). . .instead of freaking out, all he had to do was go to a different aisle.

Agreed. We don't even have that many staff members so even just bringing in 3 or 4 spares for people if they forgot theirs or haven't been able to find or make one would be plenty.
I have 1 mask, but I'm not 100% sure I know where it is...so I may buy another if we have any at my other job. Or grab a spare freebie one they provided for us (we're not required to wear them EXCEPT for taking out curbside orders) if there are some of those left.

I will admit that I wear a mask as infrequently as possible...even going to the store. I just tend to panic if I have to wear a mask for more than a couple minutes. But the store I shop at most frequently is usually not too busy so I don't really have to worry about getting to close to others.
But the number of times I see people wearing the mask, but having it go under their nose or fidgeting with it and touching it and not immediately sanitizing or washing their hands...it's like why bother wearing the mask if you're gonna touch communal items (pens, pin pads, fabric, counters, shopping carts, etc.) and then touch your mask?!?

But tbh, I'm not too worried. Though it doesn't account for untested cases or unreported cases, there have been 0 new reported cases in the county I live in (which includes a few small towns and cities) in almost 2 weeks.
But I take precautions as much as possible anyway.

I can't imagine the extra complications while trying to work right now. I'm sorry you all have to go through that. Going to the store is bad enough.

Honestly, the only real change to my work stuff is just wearing masks at the one job and getting dirty looks and occasional snide comments from rabid pro-mask customers when I'm not wearing a mask at the other, but (except for about 1.5 weeks when Joann here was closed) my work schedule has been the same as normal.

I'm glad you haven't had a super rough time. I've been very blessed too. A lot of people have it bad right now. Sad

I'm just tired of the whole thing. I'm sick of wearing a mask and gloves.

My company's getting ready for reopening (I have been working the whole time as part of the essential staff). They had us all do a "Safety" course online and pressed the fact that we will all be required to wear masks when dealing with guests, but for the guests, masks will be optional; and also stressing "social distancing", cleaning etc.(I don't have a clue how they will be keeping slot machines clean, if people jump on the machine as soon as someone else leaves it, unless we are going to be hiring a lot more people to clean them.

Seriously, I do not see how we will be ready to open on June 4th. They say we can be 50% occupied, I don't see where there will be that big of a requirement, plus I don't see where we would actually be able to handle that big of a crowd.

We have been also hearing that a few of our restaurants (ones rented by big name Chef's) may not reopen at all.

In other news, bars are officially open, along with beauty parlors, tattoo parlors, etc. . .and we have been hearing about several bars not following "social distancing". . .*sighs*

I'm hoping the brothels are closed. It would be impossible to social distance there. XD
