Totally claiming this spot for later. I have no idea what I want to read yet, but I'll have to do some brainstorming. I can't even remember the last time I finished a book at the moment. I used to be able to read so much!

Bo's post!

I came across something called the 52 book challenge. It challenges you to read one book a week. To be honest though, I think I might just aim for 10 books this year...or just...5...maybe. Ninja thunk

1. Past Mortem by Ben Elton - Read
2. The Adventures of Tintin Volume 1 - Books "In The Land Of The Soviets" and "In America" - Read
3. The Adventures of Tintin Volume 2 - Books "Cigars of the Pharaoh", "The Blue Lotus" and "The Broken Ear" - Read
4. The Adventures of Tintin Volume 3 - Books "The Black Island", "King Ottokar's Sceptre" and "The Crab With The Golden Claws" - Read
5. The Adventures of Tintin Volume 4 - Books "The Shooting Star", "The Secret Of The Unicorn" and "Red Rackham's Treasure" - Read
6. The Adventures of Tintin Volume 5 - Books "The Seven Crystal Balls", "Prisoners Of The Sun" and "Land Of Black Gold" - Read
7. The Adventures of Tintin Volume 6 - Books "Destination Moon", "Explorers On The Moon" and "The Calculus Affair" - Reading
8. The Adventures of Tintin Volume 7 - Books "The Red Sea Sharks", "Tintin In Tibet" and "The Castafiore Emerald" - Reading
9. The Adventures of Tintin Volume 8 - Books "Flight 714 To Sydney", "Tintin And The Picaros" and "Tintin And Alph-Art" - Reading
10.

Exclamation Completed my first book of the year (yesterday) Yes XD

LOL Bo. I think this originated as a variation of that 52 book challenge. Personally I don't find that goal of 52 books a year completely insane (my usual goal is 50 books/year and I've both exceeded it, and not quite met it, over the last few years of tracking this)... but I read. A lot. Usually. Apparently. At least when I'm not thoroughly distracted with learning or doing other things.

Welcome, Phoenix Luna. Maybe if you look through some of the previous reading threads you'll get some ideas on what you might find an interesting read?

The bottom line is to pick a goal that you feel comfortable with and to strive to reach that goal over the course of the year. And that, IMO, is a good thing! Yes

LOL Riley! I don't mind... it seems as if it's one or the other of us starting this thread each year! I'm just happy that it is started! It sounds like you have quite the pile of books to read! Have fun! Yes

I have a book I plan on borrowing from my uni library because my local library doesn't have it. I just have to wait until next week to request it from another campus location to Fisher or SciTech on the main campus so that I can read it on the train. Yes

Way to go Riley - congrats!

I just completed my 2nd book of the year (on the 4th day of the year - go me! XD )... and now, on to the 3rd! If this pace keeps up (which I doubt), I'll have completed at least 150 books by the end of the year! XD

Reserved! Nom

I'm currently juggling two books:

1) Sleeping Beauties - Stephen & Owen King
2) Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A mostly true memoir) - Jenny Lawson

Both are good reads thus far!

I finally get to read the last book in the Throne of Glass series! With how the last book ended, Maas has some serious explaining to do.

Book #3 for the year read and halfway through book #4/50.

*chuckles*... wow, I completely read "Throne of Glass" as "Game of Thrones"... had a whole paragraph typed up about trying to read the series and everything! Throne of Glass, however, I have not started reading and have no experience with.

Apparently these days I shouldn't type (or read?) without coffee flowing freely and fully in my system...
