I've started a list here, but I am also keeping track of my list over on Goodreads. It is a very good site if you are at a loss as to what to read next. Yes

Consider this post my claim. D:<

I've decided to attempt to start reading again.
But with my busy schedule, I'm sure I can still find time while I'm sitting around at school. :3

One of my biggest goals is to read all of the Lord of the Rings books, like I have always planned.
I should probably also read all of the books I purchased over the summer. ._.

Thanks for the link, Bo! I will definitely be making use of it :3

Ugh, have any of you ever read a crappy book, got bought in and not only read the first book but the second? And now you're struggling to get through the last book because you might as well? Grrr. I don't want to give it up yet but every time I open the book to continue, it's just trash. thunk

Yeah, I've done that, Riley. It's frustrating when it's something like the overall storyline is really intriguing but the implementation of it is just bad... or the editing is bad. It's like I want to follow the storyline, or a particularly interesting character, but the rest of it is just so badly done that it almost hurts to read, but I can't quite put it down either...

Of course, there are several books that I have just put down midway through too... either for bad storywriting/editing, or even for good writing but just a really tedious and/or depressing story (Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy and Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift come to mind)

By the way, everyone who has claimed a post so far has been added and linked to the first page. :3 I'm glad there's some interest in the idea of setting reading goals and tracking progress!

It does hurt to read it, lol. I feel like I'm losing brain cells every time I try to get a little further. At this point, I'm rooting for a drastic ending xp

How's everyone coming along with their reading goals?

I'm slowly making my way through one book right now. Problem is, there's a lot of reading I have to do for school, so when I feel like reading for fun, I end up falling asleep, lol

Just finished another book (whoot!) though not the one I'm struggling through ^^'

Keres - that's great that you're at least reading with your daughter! I have memories as a kid of reading to my dad :3

A friend of mine asked me in these past few months, how I manage to go to the library and read with all the things I have been doing (visiting my parents every second day, working at the school, doing private tutoring, translating for two different companies). I explained to her that reading for me is the same as breathing. It's not a luxury. I always have time for it and I never leave my house without a book in my bag.

So here's my reading list for the past two months, I think.

1. Scott Westerfeld - Leviathan
2. Scott Westerfeld - Polymorph
2. Scott Westerfeld - The Peeps series
3. Star Wars - Lost tribe of the Sith
4. Dan Brown - Digital fortress
5. Tolkien - Unfinished stories
6. Orson Scott Card - Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide (reading now)
7. Dan Simmons - The Hyperion Saga
8. Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games trilogy

And there were some other books by Serbian and Hungarian authors alike, but there's no point in mentioning those, since you probably didn't hear about them anyway. XD

Stay tunes, there's more to come. If you have any suggestions for me based on the above, feel free to send me a message. :3

I really did, didn't I? XD

Granted, I am a very fast reader. It's a skill I acquired at uni. Yes

It only took me a day and half to read the three Hunger Games books. XD

Bought them on Monday morning, finished with them until Tuesday evening. With classes and all in the middle. XD

I claim this post...MINE! XD

1. Tolkien - The Hobbit (Reread)
2. Gaiman - The Graveyard Book
3. Anne McCaffrey - Dragonflight
4. Anne McCaffrey - Dragonquest
5. Anne McCaffrey - The White Dragon
6. Robert Jordan - Winter's Heart

-------

Lillie, the Hunger Games books were good fast reads. I wish they were longer. :3 I got through each in about 3 days. (Hubby was surprised) I have to read at night when everyone's asleep or in the afternoon when the kiddies are at school.

I have so much to add to this it isn't even funny. I still have 4-5 posts I need to edit to add and a few odds and ends to add to my list. (Those are biography type things so I won't be doing any analysis on them.)

School is taking up all my time.
